Scheduling

Got back from Reno last weekend and I cant seem to get my schedules straight for the life of me. I didn't do much but hang out in Reno. Quick flight into the airport Saturday morning checked out the track that actually looked kind of fun to ride then took a seat for 12 hours in the grandstands watching racing. Someone has to do something about that, it looks so boring when your just sitting there. It was like chomping on broken glass all day. Sure a lot different that watching UCI stuff.

My shoulder, rib and hip have been healing up pretty good so once I got back from Reno I flipped the big "F" it switch and went to the track for some light riding. I really hate that feeling of not knowing where its going to end up, but rolling out on to the track for the first time since the wreck a few weeks ago felt pretty good. 2 nights later I got some more practice and I was feeling a little more like myself. Got the black Supercross Stem back on the bike and my view is good again. I just worked on some heavy gym stuff the last few days so a rest yesterday and a huge interval and weight session today at the gym should get me feeling a little better by mid week once I recover.

I am pretty sure the schedule is solid this week and I will be doing the biz all week. I got a flight back to Gahanna to the office in a couple weeks so that's going to ball up the program for a week but with Nations tour coming up in March I really will be staying on point. If you didn't notice there has been a ton of news the last few days, NBL Nations Tour locations were announced, the UCI put up the last north America date for SX and it's going down in Sarasota. Not to much else to report so keep on with your boredom folks!

Spectating Time

Well with the crew heading out to Reno, NV and myself facing a weekend of boredom if I sit home I figured I might as well jump on a plane and take a flight up Reno for the ABA season opener. I have only hit the track once since arriving home from Columbus and other than putting a ton of volume into the workouts in the areas I can, with a rack of broken ribs, I really have not done much.

My ribs are crap after the Christmas race. 2 wrecks in 2 days really didn't help my body out any. The Presidents Cup wreck really wasn't all that other than some top of the turn carnage and slam dunk into the dirt. I would say it was the day 2 wreck when I hung it up that was the injury catcher. Down the first straight in a crowd of 8 during the semi things got a little close and it was all done. Ribs, Hip and a pretty banged up head was all that came of it. I sat out the last day of racing and was pretty bummed cause that was the best day for the track. It was getting hard and smooth. Overall the track was testing some people with the new Elite Trax team building them up like they do over at UCI. Let me remember that 18 hour days really got old on day 4 over there. with 1900 riders and 360 motos to get thru it was easily a 12 hour day each day. Add in my propaganda and a walk back into the hotel from the convention center and I was at 18 hour days minimum.

I actually got a gym membership and taking my fine tuning away from the home gym that's work the past few years. It's mainly related to so upcoming things that will be going on and the lack of being able to get to my home gym and the proper times each week, but either way its a pretty positive thing. I better pace myself over there or else things could get out of hand. The boys over at CTS are still killing my workouts so one I settle back in to the routine I will be feeling crispy again before the first big shindig over the year. Speaking of that... Nations Tour in March people. Make it happen.

Christmas

Tis the season to stay home. So I thought until the J-O-B calls again. It's a good thing I like my gigs. It's Christmas and I'm off to Columbus, OH for the NBL Presidents cup and Christmas Classic. Although it will be a fun week and the family and being home with friends is great it makes for a drag on the holiday traveling with all the goons that take a plane ride every 2 years to see Aunt Flow. There was no exception as I sit typing this next to one of the helpless wonders that managed to talk a travel agent into letting them fly despite their issues in life.

I got lots of riding in the past couple weeks until 5 days ago when it started raining non stop and everything in site is flooded. I think those last few weeks I was hitting more track time than I had in a minute. Its looking like I will be getting surgery in a couple months so I want to try and hammer out as much as possible to get ahead.

I seen the rebuilt boys track down in Chula Vista an I can't wait to get on it. They grew some and put some bigger turns but the jumps still didn't look to lippy. There are some big plans next year with a few races and if you didn't keep up in the news I got an additional boss for next year that is really hoping to dominate the world. Im just glad I have been chosen to be a part in All of the good things to come. If your lost on what I'm taking about maybe that's another reason not to be here so from 30000 feet in the sky I will check out for now and see you soon in Columbus!

Days Off

I Finally got a few to settle back down and spend some time catching up again. It was just a few weeks I was set for the Holidays but now I am behind again. I am going to Columbus over Christmas so I better get to shopping since everyone local will have to put up with me on Christmas eve cause I am on Southwest come Christmas morning.

The last eating holiday flew by and I was in Morristown, TN for the NBL Race. It was a good experience to be a bit of a wing man the whole weekend and I still got some laps in, but really didn't try to hard on Saturday but come Sunday I didn't want to waste the trip so I put some effort nearly won some laps and then was looking good into the main until I got stuck high and the entire moto rail road ed under me and put a stop to my fun. I still got 6th outta the deal, but nothing to great to start the 2011 points.

It seems like it's time for lots of meetings and such but that's always good. I stepped away the last couple days to ride with our new Elite Women rider on the team. It's super fun having Michele around but she is being a little lazy at the moment between tracks while I try and be the adult and finish up some work and spend my time on a blog that your wasting time reading.

If your off to the Classic in a couple week I will see you there, if your not going to be there your really going to miss out, it should be one of the best again.

Super Lame Weather

Blew out the first part of my weekend with nothing but crap weather. I know I should shut my mouth since I know lots of people that were stuck completely indoors. So even though most are jealous that I did get some track in last night, some gates today and was able to still pull of a schedule I am just not satisfied with the capabilities of the weather man. Yesterday morning I was packing up the circus and getting ready to head out to the Nor Cal Classic. Nate & I were going to do a bonsai run up to Nick V’s event but he was not able to find an Indian good enough to do any dances to keep the rain away so he cancelled during the day on Friday cause the rain was already doing wonders to the dirt. It was going to be a super fast trip but we were at least going up to sit, hand out some magazines to the kids, throw out some stickers and T-Shirts and basically just make the presence known as you do when you’re a sponsor of great events!

Lots of cool stuff started rolling into the office after the design frenzy I had a couple weeks ago. New portfolios for PR purposes, stickers, and some more Join The Nation braded items made their way in for a sneak peek.

I know I am on a record right now for updates this year but that’s what happens when your forced with either shopping at Big Lots or acting like you got work to get done and start frantically typing on the computer. I really gotta line up some more events because I don’t know what happens when I have time to rest. I bet ya it will be another 2 weeks before I update since I got a real job the next couple days, a surgeon consult on Tuesday and then Fly out to TN by Thanksgiving. Once I get back I know there is a board meeting somewhere that first few days of December so I know you like peeping my lame life but your just going to have to settle for your own and stop wasting your time reading up on myself cause it just makes you dignity go down! If your in Tulsa next weekend have fun making that decision, don’t worry there wont be enough dirt to make either side cool so just take the shortest route possible.

Dorsey

Finally made it to the halfway mark in November. As the month started it seemed like I was drowning in work everyday. There is just so much new stuff coming online that it was leaving me without seconds to go have fun. Topped with lots of training in the downtime with the crew of Harvey, Mellone, and our new pro Michele it was just making my clock cramp.

I didnt do much for Haloween, threw in some heavy days of training and tested out my new Ripxx training equipment. I am pretty much back on my game for gearin up my training but with limited time I will be using some things to make each move a little more strategic. I am shipping out to Morristown over Thanksgiving but this coming weekend I will be up at the Nor Cal Classic. I am manning the booth up there, maybe take some laps and riding some bikes. The location sounds like it just got moved from Santa Clara PAL since there was to much drama over someone supporting a cause. I really think the boys have forgotten what the 2 wheels rolling on the dirt was all about. I am pretty sure I will be driving into Livermore instead of PAL due to this drama.

This past weekend was the NBL Dorsey Cup. The 2nd annual race went down with some fun times and lots of old schoolers coming out to pay tribute to Linda's life. The track isn't the best for training but I did get some laps in and the image posted is from a practice lap that really surprised me when I was turning those rpm's on this little track. Of course I will leave off the deceleration chart into the 2nd turn or up the last straight, yes I said up! The 40yrs of bmx thing was goin down this weekend along with all kinds of other racing but I didnt get a chance to check it out, I was out on the bike instead of standing around talking about the past. Its just the way I will always be I hope.

I got a couple days to work and few more days to play this week so I am sure I will see ya out at the tracks or running the freeways around so-cal.

Championships

3 solid weeks of championship event started off this month. It took me last weekend to remember where home was and this week to finally get caught up. The first weekend I had to go hang out at Orange Y to see what the ABA had going on. I took some laps, but it really was not worth it since I did nothing all year with them.

The next weekend was the NBL CA Champs and it was good to be close to home. We rounded up the crew and did pretty good. I won the whole deal after and making it my first real time riding since the shoulder made it pretty sketchy but 45 or so points I still won it. The turnout was pretty low and it makes me wonder if I should even budget that expense into 2011. The last couple weeks have been a huge mess of fun with budgets. We grabbed a UCI elite so it really changes the game plan for 2011.

A trip up to Las Vegas was calling out for the final stop of the month. Boulder City, NV had the Redline Cup West on the old NBL track. It's funny to see when the swoop a place they don't make much change since none of their tracks come close to looking as dialed as this place did. I ended up racing a younger local that just drilled me all weekend. I was on burnout mode and with the Dew Tour going down, Rob Phillips Birthday and lots of other stuff going on I just really did ride even 80%. Seeing a huge break in the future was kind of adding to my lack of motivation but I still got on the box with a 2nd. I got a good 5 weeks still until Thanksgiving. I assume I will end up somewhere? TN or OK? Not so sure where I am headed yet, but once that is done another good month before hitting OH. Yes, I said it Christmas Classic this year. I got a little bit different program working and I have already hinted my way back to the CTS training plan that worked for me in "07"

Not much else to report other than lots of gossip on the back burner that I will leave out of the public. Keep watching some websites and you will soon see what I am talking about. Of course don't bother looking here cause if your reading this your either a big time stalker, have way to much time on your hands or flat out have an obsession with me. - Peace!

Interbike

Last week finally ended. It turned into a long one as soon as I got to Vegas last Tuesday for the bike show. Each day was nearly 16+ hours and by Friday night I was ready to head home. I gave riding a chance each night, but gave up by Thursday. Not only were my legs toast, but my shoulder just was not ready yet.

I rolled thru the show each day visiting sponsors and had numerous meetings. It's great to know all my sponsors got my back and next year is so insane I want it to start already. I feel like all these races left just are making me go thru the motions. I want to start my winter training, I could do without the winter cold! Its super hot right now and 9PM sprints went off well with my Tune Bug in the helmet, thanks to that hookup at the show. I had such a busy week I forgot it was on my helmet until I put it on for sprints. This coming weekend is the ABA State champs, next weekend is NBL State champs. I think I will sneak around Orange Y and maybe hit the race for some fun. The NBL will be close to home coming up and it should be fun to stay home for once.

Now on to the video! I get back from interbike and find out the same cat that decided to TBone someone in Saturdays semi is now telling people I took him on out Sunday. The comical part is that in this video it was Sundays Main that I made after spending the evening at the hospital getting my shoulder put back in. So I am further behind that I have been in a main all year, just cruising waiting to get thru the cookie cutter aba turn that was built. I had some speed but just didn't want to get into any turn 1 ball ups, so playing it safe, then someone blows up and I fall anyway. It's all good until this dude goes telling people I wrecked him and he is gunning for me now. Just going to throw the video out there so your all aware that nobody touched him. Pure Squid!

Kentucky & Chula

This picture sums up my weekend for Chula Vista, but I did have a busy couple weeks and 2 hyped up races has been on the agenda. Glad to be back home after a long week at the NBL Grands. I got into Kentucky this year on Tuesday and being part of the NBL Crew it was pretty fun putting on the event. Super busy 16 hour days or racing and working, but the trip was going well until I missed by main by a foot. I got caught up in a semi by a wreck and it took all I had to catch back to 4 inches from 4th place. I ended up 5th for the National season and thats still not to bad considering I had a perfect going in tied with 4 people.

The 2011 season wont start for a bit, so I have some time to relax from NBL stuff. Training cant get fully in gear with the ABA season champ stuff still working its way in. This past weekend was the UCI SX in Chula Vista along with the boys national. The track is junk in my opinion. Turns are small, jumps are short and it's just truly not that great of a track to run the national on. Maybe I am a little irritated cause there were some names in the class that come back every time just cause its the "OTC". Either way some lamer caused a wreck in the semi main on Saturday causing a huge ball up that I was leading. I went down, up and a trip to the hospital. My shoulder was way out, and not going back in. 2 doctors, an hour with of medication and a weight tied to my hand and a lot of wrenching and it finally went back into the socket. Another 16 X-Rays and I was back watching UCI SX on Saturday night. I kind of thought my day would be done for Sunday but I woke up and it was not feeling that bad. I took my time warming up, gave it a test with the brace on for round 1 and then suffered thru the pain for round 2. I made it to the main, figured I would roll in about 6th place and play out the field and the same lame rat that crashed on Saturday blows up again, taking me with him. 2 wrecks in a weekend is enough for me. I called it good, got my $3.75 in winnings and booked it from the glamorous money pit called the otc. $30 parking, $10 burgers, $25 gate fee's just dont seem like a good thing for the sport. How lame! I didnt pay for that crap I rolled UCI Vip into the place and skipped all the otc cover charges!

This week I am off to Las Vegas for Interbike. It's the last year in Sin City. I got a busy week doing double duty with meetings but everything with sponsors should work out great and the 2011 season with riders is already shaping up to be better than this year! I am excited. Grand National Time

Last week of August and Labor day weekend means its time for a trip to Louisville, KY. I am on my way in the morning, its a few days ahead of the regular scheduled programming but I am making a 1 day stop in Kansas for a meeting and then getting into KY a day early. It should be fun to hang out for Grands week. NBL is doing a pretty trick schedule this year with bands and entertainment so its going to be a good weekend once it comes. I just spent 2 days shoveling dirt at the track, so I am over working at the moment. I went back to riding at some of the old places I was always at a couple years back and it was funt to ride Whittier again. The sad part about that place is nothing changes. Its not as smooth as the old days but it sure has not lost its hype, even with the 3-6 motos they keep racking up.

September is going to be super busy for me, with Interibke, Chula Vista, OTC, a meeting up north and a normal work schedule between all of that, I am going to be burnt toast in a coupe more months. I will always be up on the Twitter over the next few weeks as it gets busy and it's always fun to see everyone at the races so hit me up.

Worlds

More than a month goes by and some travel around the globe. I have become horrible at typing up some notes on my trips, and putting down my gripes and good times. July hit and I just wanted to grab the bike and get tuned up for Worlds. I spent the first half of the year chipping away at some fitness and hitting a ton of races. I didn't do so many races in July with the exception of the CA State Games. That turned out to be all hype, thanks to the population in that sanction not giving a crap about anything but local racing and practice for those nationals.

The trip to South Africa was so long, a long layover in Dubai had us hitting the streets. Vegas on sand is the best description for that place. Totally awesome place that I want to go back for. Once we got into Durban South Africa we had nothing left but to ride. An hour out of the city was the track, we spent the week doing the riding thing and realizing once you have seen the wild zebras, giraffe's and other animals roaming the hills you pretty much have seen the sights. The crime was not all it was cracked up to be, but I sure wouldn't trust the place either.

The practice days went good, I felt fast, strong and ready. Race day came and motos felt good, my semi was a huge scare when I was in 7th at the second turn. My luck put me in a perfect spot for a good rhythm and it got me up to 3rd. The main event, is just that. A main event at the worlds. I had a middle gate and those were not working out for me when it came to starts. I had an ok lap, but my energy was dumped making it in the semi, so it was a lap, that was about it. Nothing special about it, finished 6th in the world and packed it up. A long trip back home and a week later I was in Prunedale, CA for the NBL last chance national. I just came home from there with a perfect score for 3 races. That puts me in a pretty good spot heading into Louisville in just a few weeks.

The flip side of things has me helping out a lot with NBL putting on a better show, they needed someone out west to watch over somethings so I am taking on that role for them. its gotten pretty busy for me, but catch me on an e-mail and I still got time for racing, so see ya out there!

Roseville & Livermore

Thanks to Southwest and a couple bounces to and from Nor-Cal I spent a couple weeks training and grabbing some more scores. Nate & I drove up to Roseville with a truckload full of goodies to hold over 2 weekends of racing. The ABA Summer Nationals in Roseville turned out to be pretty hot even though it was a month earlier. The track was different but not. The layout was the same generic but new carved up lips to create the "uci effect" without the cost of all the dirt. Pretty lame to lay it out that way, pony up and buy some dirt and make a decent size track. It was still all about power out there. I was able to squeeze the main both days, but ended up outside and with burner gates both days I settled for that 5th and 6th each day.

It's always good going up to the area thanks to housing by my sister and a weekend of river combined with racing. My luck at wake boarding didn't go so well with the unhealed shoulder I get to keep all year. It was still fun on the boat. A couple dialed road rides added to the week up there. After a week home we flew back up to Sacramento and hit the river and road bikes again. Took the trip to Livermore on Friday and raced the NBL Regional with some low moto counts. It was only a 20 moto race but 26-34 had a class both days. It was fun to mix it up, nobody could take home a perfect and I did my best edging out a 1st and 2nd each day. The bummer of the weekend was having to drive back home on Sunday. This week is going by quick just like every week. I had to work yesterday, playing the bike thing today, checking out the new NBL track in Kernville tomorrow and hitting the Vans warped tour by the weekend. All of this will go down as I tune in a training schedule for the next couple weeks and begin a little taper for that monster called South Africa.

7 Down, 2 To Go!

I really am not sure if I remember where the 9 weekends of racing started, but I know it's ending in 2 weeks in Roseville, CA and will leave me in Nor -Cal for some training. A couple weeks later it will be over to Livermore for their Regional. I just got home today from a Utah burner. Left Friday morning with the crew for Utah. Craig Harvey, Nate, Koby, Diego, Tory and myself hit the road early Friday and drove to Virgin for the NBL Regional.

I think the wind started when we got into Utah and didn't stop! The pre=race Friday night left everyone falling over in the gate due to wind, and after Saturday and my 2nd & 3rd against the damn young guns there was enough dirt on all the gear to rebuild the track. We booked it back to Vegas and had a fun time Saturday night. Hard Rock was the last stop and the next morning Craig, Nate, and I were running the strip at 6AM for a workout. Stairs and parking structures just didn't seem like the thing to be doing in Vegas, but it sure did mix up the workouts during this super long stretch of races.

Last weekend I did the double race in Santa Barbara & Camarillo for ABA. Som serious bumpage going on with those tracks. Cookies cut in all shapes for sure! Either way I left happy cause I won them both and got a bottle of bike wash from the TO for my efforts.

So stoked to be playing in Fresno again this weekend. The super speedway of BMX for sure! I will be up there all weekend for the NBL State and then home for 3 days and it's off to the Sistas house for Roseville.

3,4 & 5

This past weekend finished up weeks 3, 4 & 5 of my 9 weekends in a row. Its been long winded the last couple since I had to make 3 drives up the 99 freeway to Northern California. Luckily each week it got shorter since Livermore. Fresno turned into a small race but it was up there with one of the busiest and fun weekends in a long time. Between NBL doing the pro spectacular at night, getting speeding tickets and racing 2 days of nationals it didn't seem to stop until Monday morning when I got back to working for a few days. I did get 3rd & 2nd in Fresno and only took 1 round win the entire weekend minus the pre race Friday night. It was good to have the top competition in town for the NBL Side.

The following weekend I drove back up to Bakersfield and stayed the weekend with teammate Rob in a hotel. We did all 3 days of the ABA show at Metro BMX. I managed to get a horrible 6th on Saturday with one of the most stacked classes we have had in a while. Its now the "X" Pro class since everyone keeps returning. I totally blew up on Sunday and couldn't even make the main. After watching the mains from the sidelines I took a trip up to Kernville, CA to check out the new track there. Its going to be awesome with 3 bike disciplines all in 1 facility.

5 days later I was back at the track again for the NBL State Qualifier a little closer to home. There was a low rider count and my combined class left me in 19-25X. Not the best place for a 30 year old but I got wins both days. The race was bunk, the wind was blowing non stop for 2 days and the track was only half smooth. The only good thing was I was able to train thru the weekend and hopefully stop the slowdown that's been creeping up with all the weekends of racing in a row. This coming weekend is a double header ABA day over in Santa Barbra and I am thinking about taking the trip that way.

The next few weeks will be back on the long road to Utah, Fresno and Roseville. Once Roseville is done I get to start a couple weeks of training camp and will be in Sacramento on the road bike off and on until the Livermore NBL Regional a few weeks later. It will be fun to hang up there and see the family. If So-Cal keeps up the wind I don't think I want to be here anyway!

Livermore, CA

Sitting in a passenger seat of a car got me a great idea that i should update on the road. With that idea and Nates constant quiet car tactics of no music or noise it forced me into typing and update on the small black fruit in my hand.

We took off for Livermore, CA for a weekend of nbl state racing. It was race 1 of the year for the golden state series. more than $1400 for the open prize money over the 2 days got us a little more excited for state racing. After almost 7 hours of driving got us at the track and some ride time on Friday. The track had a awesome layout a little bit UCI deep rollers and a decent design. The surface was a little loose, some rocks and a rebuild made it worse that it turned out by Saturday morning.

The track got smoother as the weekend started. Saturday racing had me in my own class for once. I got so used to racing out of class it was a suprise to have people to race and get some competition. it proved fun as a was bumping in turn 1 on the first round. I took the win for the day but not without others bringing some heat.

After a long drawn state meeting we were off to san fransisco for some dinner. we got lost, drove around ended up downtown in china town eating dinner on the top floor of a building at the empress of china. I felt like i was back in china at the silk market. We got back late to the hotel and up early for day 2 . I had the same moto with additions for Sunday. I pulled off the win thanks to the rhythm section. We got on the road by noon on Sunday with an effort to at least have 96 hours until were off to Fresno for week 3 of 9.

Its been a while. It seems like everyday when I think about updating this thing it totally blows by me by the time I get around to it. I think i tell myself i will "do it later" and then it never happens. The days are blowing by and summer is coming quick. I get super busy running the 3 ring circus and i think about 5 races have gone by since the last update.

A redline cup qualifier in my hometown went down in early March. I took a win and moved on to getting ready for desoto Texas and the big ol usac champs. The weekend there was a little on the cold side. I took a horrible 5th on day 1 of the national and then took 3rd at the usac champs. so #3 is it for me on the US side. On the last day out there i got the win for day 2 of the national.

After getting back home i had 1 week off and this past weekend was the start of 9 weeks in a row. it started off close to home in lucerne valley for the nbl regional. i swung a perfect racing some good buddies. this coming weekend is the first nbl state race in Livermore, ca and i will be zipping up there to ride. I have not been to that track in a few years and it was fun then so i am hoping for the same.

its been super busy and i dont see a slowdown so i will try and throw up a review or update when i can. so until then.. catch ya at the track.

New Mexico

I got back from Las Cruces, NM the other day and had to hit the week full on. It's Thursday now and I got a few minutes. The NBL put on the Road Runner National last weekend and Nate, Myself, Diego, and Koby took a long 12 hour road trip to New Mexico for the small race. We left on Thursday night and drove to Phoenix cause were to much of wimps to do it all in one day.

We woke up Friday morning and drove another good 8 hours to New Mexico. The track was amazing, it turned out to be one of the funniest places to ride. Just like last year it was super smooth. The people there were super cool and our trip over there was nothing but non sense thanks to our 10 year old passenger that keeps us living. I ended up racing and winning on the Friday night pre-race. There were only 100 riders and 2o some motos for both days of racing and I had a super combined class of 19 and over expert. On Sunday I was the only person over 25 and after getting 3rd on Saturday I felt I could make something happen for Sunday. Main time came early cause of a 2 moto transfer due to rain and I pulled out a win in hurricane winds. The place started getting some rain as we left town and went insane on a 12 hour drive all the way. The whole car pissed Nate off as we stopped for Lotta Burger, then to see the thing, then never stopped to Pee. We got home late Sunday night and I got nothing to look forward too until Desoto, Texas for the USA Cycling National Champs. I am going out to defend my champion jersey.

Chula Vista National

Ok my report from the ABA So Cal Nationals. It rained. There ya go. That's it. It a nutshell it was raining driving there, it rained during the pre race, Saturday was thrown back over 3 hours due to rain. A 1 moto transfer was a burn and it poured rain as soon as racing was over. I took 1st on Friday night, a 3rd on Saturday night and ran for the hills Sunday morning. I left and went to make some money and work, instead of pay another 50 bucks to sit in rain. Racing on 2 inches of soil-tac actually turned out better than I thought. It was comparable to riding in a wet parking lot. I was just over the weather since Saturday night it was a midnight run being up for AMA Super cross in the rain after racing in it all day. At least J.Rom and crew got to hang out and have some fun. That doesn't always happen during the year.

Even prior to that weekend it had been a bunch of rain outs with the local racing, then all this week has been a burn too with even more rain. The picture shows what I have been doing a heck of a lot more than I want to be. Next week is a big race in the hometown, then its the hotel circuit for a while.

I am nursing back a pretty weak shoulder at the moment. It dislocated on me during the pre-race on Friday night in Chula Vista. With the luck of passing out it went back in without a hospital trip. The trainer on Monday said its all in place perfect, there were no tears or separations and I just have to heal it back up. Sleeping sure does suck. Catch ya soon.

It seems like the last 2 weeks I have done a whole bunch of clicking away at this damn computer. Website stuff was looking kind of shady, so I got to work on the Eliminator Racing website, then I only made a couple changes to my own cause I was pretty burned out on it by then. At least the schedule and the regular stuff got updated.

Its a good thing I was occupied with paperwork and websites cause there sure is no way to ride my new pink Supercross. I felt pretty fast on my new sponsors bike when it was right out of the box, but only the day after riding it, its been raining non stop. We got some big plans to get out the heavy equipment and tear away tomorrow morning. I just might be able to ride it before the national at the training center in a few weeks. Not to much other news to come yet. I don't want to feel like NBL and put a big press release every time I shift my arse.

The good part about being quiet is you wont know I will have a sick new jersey on in a couple weeks, all new gear, a new supercross bicycle and all my regular sponsors for the past ten years dug their feet in for more. It's going to be a fun, money sucking year! Phones ringing so its time to go. See ya all soon.

It's been a busy New Year. It started with working, then running off to my sisters for some fun and a mini camp on the road bike. I rode, worked on a ton of projects from my sisters super office and then enjoyed my time. Thursday was back to work, then It's been a struggle of working out, staying awake and burning the midnight oil trying to get all of the projects wrapped up for the new year. Reno went off with the same table, step, doubles, rhythm and finish line table. I missed supercross thanks to working. I got 3 days off to pile in lots of training and get the loose ends closed on the 2010 Schedule & Sponsorships. Its going to be a fun year, but I am going to ease into it. It's going to be a long and costly year. See ya at the ATM!

Christmas & New Year

So a late Merry Christmas but an early Happy New year. No classic for me over in Louisville. Not riding much the past 2 week, I was trying to give my body and brain a little break from the traveling, training and everything else that comes with it. I didnt do much but work, sit around, and do a bunch of office work. It's about time to hit the bike again. I did a lot of volume training but left it at that the past 2 weeks. I got back to the specific training today and along with a bunch of exciting announcments coming soon with Eliminator I cant wait to get into the new year, skip reno and visit my sister, then get down to business for the season.

Point Chasers

It's been kind of funny this last weekend. There were numerous double point races going down in So Cal trying to give all them point chasers one last shot to steal it away from someone. By morning on Saturday the entire Southern California was covered in rain with the exception of the NBL track holding their Toy Drive race. It went off without a hitch. Got to ride, get my train on and didn't even get wet. It was pretty sweet. I think my couple thousand point lead should hold out for the year end title and without much luck on them double pointers nobody is really going anywhere. Today the sun was shining again in the desert and I got another hour of gate practice and racing. It was good to ride, the last couple weeks have been nothing but e-mails, meetings, and board meetings. Did I mention politics and phone calls.

2 weekends ago was the NBL CA Board meeting. Once the drama session got rolling and our usual back row crew was in place we knew nothing to breaking would get accomplished. There are some really new and exciting things that did happen that you will see soon with the CA Series. Of course it seemed like every ones personal agendas got taken care of, cause more than 2 hours early people were packing their books cause class was over. So with no mention to marketing, sponsorships, or the awards (centerpiece of the whole series) we were off to a dinner meeting. Overall don't think I'm knocking it cause the series should gain a big interest this year and it's still awesome when compared to most series. But damn, I wish something got get moving with some major ground breaking change in that group.

The week after the meeting it was off to a bunch of sponsor meetings along with some R&D time. Rain killed riding all last week and I was stuck actually getting to work at hand instead of playing. If you didn't notice in the news world, NBL has a new honcho. I have talked to him and he sounds like the guy moving things in the right direction. At least they are out of the holding pattern they have been in for months. Maybe now the prospects will turn into something! I am down and out for now I gotta work in the morning.

ABA Grands Review

40 hours in a car and I am back home from the ABA Grands. Nate & I blasted out of town on Tuesday morning and gave up on driving by 9PM in New Mexico. We got up and did the rest on Wednesday to get into Tulsa just in time for every establishment to close it's doors for the holiday. We searched around for some food and to my luck there was a QDoba and not a Chipotle. Thursday had me at the track way to early thanks to cruiser practice. My 20 practice wasn't until 1 and again at 8 so we had a long day for thanksgiving but thanks to our team moms we always get taken care of. Lil Joe's mom made the dinner and it was good cause I hate being away this time of year. It's usually my excuse for skipping the race. By the end of the day I was over the cold, indoor, etc and felt pretty good on the track. Friday was the ROC. I transferred 1st round, waited all day to get 3rd in the main.

Saturday morning and the Grands was on. The track was a nice idea, but again a squash if you ask for my opinion. Over thought trying to be cool is what I call it. 3 right turns was pretty lame and the decision was no faster than the "safety" side. I got the gate of the weekend in 1st round and pulled into turn 1. Took the lead and transferred out. That put me out off my bike until Sunday afternoon when the 1/4 mains starting going. The rain came Sunday, I hate warming up indoors but had to thanks to rain. I swooped into 3rd in the 1/4 then got dusted out in the semi with a 5th. I almost crashed 3 times in the semi and rode a pretty horrible lap and was still almost going to transfer until I made yet another mistake, hit my knee and almost flipped. I was actually pretty excited about my performance and after seeing the mains at 8PM and where people finished it just shows me the cards I was playing.

We left as soon as we were out, by 10PM we were hitting the middle of Texas and wanted no more of the car so the road warriors that Nate and I are got another hotel. We took all day to get home on Monday then today I have been sitting back doing nothing wondering why my legs are so damn sore! Back to work tomorrow and getting these legs moving by Thursday.

So here I am sitting in a vehicle going down interstate 40 on my way to Tulsa, ok for thanksgiving and the ABA grands. Who ever thought up this idea! Either way the past couple weeks has been busy since the nbl awards and last race at Santa Barbara. The track over there was plain and same as before but with the new twist of the Dorsey cup event. It's a good idea and going to roll on in years to come. Magic mtn was the same drag as usual and then it was back to training for the grands

All in a day the Nbl had a huge change . The president is gone and we got a true business CEO. On the other side ABA keeps taking tracks and running races but not doing much to grow population. I do have to admit they are doing wonders for the sport when it comes to exposure. Not to much matters for me, I love watching the daily drama spill out on the boards and I just care about riding in the end cause it's all the matters.

That's brings it right back to the 1300 mile drive to Tulsa. Flights were way expensive and gas is cheap for the times so here we are driving. Stuck but hey were in a recession playing on kids bikes so its good!

It was real good to have a travel break the past 2 weeks. Being home helped ramp up the training again. I was just get slower & slower after a 2 month string of weekends. I took up some overtime at work over Halloween and made some money instead of spending a bunch going to Orlando. I didnt really do much this past weekend other than ride the local tracks that I have not gotten to step foot on lately. I got my new "10 page" NBL Magazine today in the mail and read the pages of ad's and race forms with not much "magazine" in the paper. It's crazy how some are still being hit by the economy while others seem to act untouched.

This coming weekend I will be hitting Santa Barbara for the 1st annual Dorsey Cup race. It will be 1st at the track and the tracks last NBL race. Kind of ironic! The Nor Cal Classic went down this past weekend and that's a positive thing going on that more tracks need to model. On Sunday I have to swing by magic mtn. to pick up that state #1 again but first on Friday I am meeting with the NBL president to get this strategy locked down for the west coast.

It's only a couple weeks until ABA Grands, and I guess @NMellone & I are stuck driving there cause were down like the economy. Flights are nuts right now with pricing, but gas prices are not so bad so were off for AZ, NM, TX and OK. My training seems on point for the race, I just need a little rest leading up to it. I good taper will do me right. If your just going to be sitting on Go211 this weekend then get up and go to Santa Barbara cause the Dorsey cup is actually planned to be a pretty cool event. Along with the free ticket to magic mtn, it might not make for a bad day. Ok, that's enough PR for now.

State & Regional Champs

2 updates in a month is going to be a record this year. Of course this update comes to you from a new computer thanks to a complete meltdown of my last office machine just a week ago. It's a big panic when you got 5 years worth of contracts on the previous one. I learned a whole bunch about hard drives and enclosure kits real quick. Back to good now. It's been 3 more races in the past 3 weeks for me. NBL Woodward Park in Fresno was looking amazing when we showed up for the State Champs. The track is dialed with a new 2 man sprint trails track along side the UCI style race track. I won the whole weekend and took the title in California. The overall race scene was lame considering the low rider count in all the classes. NBL has to step up the wild west or they are going to lose the gun show.

In between the State Champs and the 1st 2010 west coast NBL National and Regional Championships from 2009 there was Lancaster for ABA. It was not to windy until the day I raced. I skipped Saturday and took a 3rd Sunday. I raced Friday night knowing I was missing practice Saturday and I think I got 2nd. The rider/moto count was low for ABA but the scene was still pretty good. It's been hard the past 3 weeks cause it's the end of the season and all these races everyone just goes thru the motions. My Aunt was around for a visit during the week home and it was good to see her since its been a few years.

I just got home last night from Las Vegas and the NBL National. It was the lowest of low to end a 7 week string of traveling. 40 motos, combined classes, no payout for the regional and a track that was the same as the previous year with the addition of bumps. NBL is working on a plan to change these negative things about races, but lets not forget it's the sanction that gives back a ton more to the riders. Remember the race was part of a series that actually gives a whole bunch back. It's still no excuse to hold an event that falls short of your responsibility to provide for the series sponsors and riders that support it. I got 2 perfect scores in for the national series and made a dud with a 2nd in the regional main but still took the series title. Its only a couple weeks until the NBL awards and race at magic mtn. It's just a month out from the ABA grands so I will be training, cause Yes, I guess I'm going. I started out pretty good with running, lifting, and swimming for day 1 of a little tune up after getting slower week after week during the past 2 months of travels and racing. It just slows you down. Until next month! I'm out!

OTC, Interbike, Redline Cup

Gosh darn its been almost another month since updates and I got 3 more weekends and a whole bunch of rumors to ramble about. You gotta stay up on twitter where you can get the "hourly" updates on the lameness. Over the past few weeks a lot of people have asked me where the updates have gone, but it's just the plain simple fact that I get busy and forget about it. All you morning coffee readers better start checking the "live" feed on the right.

So I think Chula Vista Olympic Center , UCI / ABA "superace" was almost up when I wrote on here last. That weekend was a great event for the sport. Lots of media and "athletic" direction to the sport and thanks to ABA for that. The UCI supercross race was more of the same greatness they put on, the best part of that was watching our Eliminator kid J Rom race in elite and qualify out. The ABA track there has been dubbed by the boys as a worlds replica track, but its way short, the turns were small and the size of the jumps and rhythm still were not close to what UCI builds. It's a great start to building those types of tracks in the states but 3 large jumps on a typical ABA size 2nd straight made it tricky, but not difficult. Of course it was better than the 9 rollers that were real original this past weekend in Atwater at the Redline Cup championships. On Saturday in Chula Vista I didn't make the main, it was more funny and had to shake it off since it was the 1st main I didn't make this year. On Sunday after cleaning up for the wreck I had a squider flip the gate and it killed my first straight and I think I got motoed with a 6th.

I was in Las Vegas shorty after leaving the OTC and interbike was happening all week. I didn't really see anything to special at the show other than a whole bunch of empty booths and space. Money seemed down but the core business of the sport was still moving numbers. My sponsor list for twenty ten will remain almost untouched thanks to all the great folks I get to hang with every year at the show. PD & Nate were in Vegas hanging with me and after walking the show we hung out Friday night for Nates birthday and got home.

This past weekend was the exciting stop on the train in Atwater, CA for Redline cup champs. I took home the #2. I just couldn't out power the slingshotting big gear little gear for yet another year. The race was short and quick, only 100 motos but it still had the race feel to it that NBL has seemed to have lost. It's all about hype! I'm calling it out right now that most of you don't know but NBL lost another track in California to the ABA abyss. Santa Barbara will be ABA shortly after the NBL Com Cup next month. With the debut of the boys better program of not waving thanks & goodbye to everyone but the number 1 guy, its only a matter of time that NBL will be driven out if they don't start flowing some major support towards the sport. The new schedule for NBL doesn't seem to show much hope. West Coast event dates have front loaded 2010 and by the end of April they would have no desire or capability for a new rider to step into that membership pool. I hear the Regional series will end in August next year to match the already "off" calendar that matches nothing but a fiscal year. Maybe it's so we can put up a bunch of money for regional champs, right before taking the circus back to "TBA" for the NBL Grands.

Let's get past the negativity and bring up the good in the sport. Woodward Park in Fresno has the State Champs for NBL this weekend and I will be carting my ass back up the 99 fwy in just a couple days. ABA has Lancaster in the wind the following weekend(this went negative quick). Las Cruces, NM got on the national circuit for next year with their awesome track. ABA is on Versus network with the UCI Series. I seen a commercial on TV for ABA the other day. I know ABA is getting involved in a video game. I guess that's my ramble for now, but I am guessing after this weekend and the NBL State series I will have something else to ramble about so check back and you just might get an update sooner than later. If not you can always drink your coffee and check news, vintage, mania and add up your district points cause you know you don't wanna work just yet!

"Grands" Review

I know its been more than a week back but hey at least it's not 2 months! I was back last Monday afternoon from the NBL Grands and the National Championship. My trip turned out just fine, but kind of quiet from the normal. I had P Doty with me, Rob and his son Koa were all with us. But that's was the solid team for Eliminator. Sort of a 4 man wrecking crew that came down to 1 in the main. The 1st day was travel, and as usually a long day that ended later when bowling ball couldn't get on his plane in time and got in at midnight. 2 Airport runs later we had the crew. 1st practice proved the track was normal. It was nearly the same as the last 2 years.

The next practice session turned into a hassle and confrontation with the hilarious security guard. It's always been told dealing with the good ol boys in the Kentucky law enforcement is just plain stupid. Well I never have got the pleasure of actually encountering these fools until this year. My lord, what a bunch of retards. Seriously! A "bandit" security guard shows up in a cart telling us to move our car. Well he came up more like he was ready to arrest us for nothing. His grammar was as good as his ability to realize the road was closed going into parking when we had gotten there. He basically tried to arrest me over nothing and told us don't show up all weekend and he was going to be looking for our green dodge van. What a fool! After practice and a trip to the airport the rest of the weekend was uneventful as we waved to the same guy driving in our blue kia van. Last time I checked law enforcement there lost all credibility when the scream, in no way serve you and come up blowing their cigarette smoke in your face. Pretty sure I could outrun that chain smoking guy even on his POS golf cart.

Enough of the drama, they broke that Christmas news about KY, the NBL also took no time in showing that nothing ever changes beyond the surface when it comes to the operation. Take it good or bad if you want. Just ask somebody where their check is from the grands? The normal operation in Kentucky was going on. Sunday night 4th street, Saturday night Go Carts, P Doty spinning me, rental car destruction's and the sandwich shop! Steak N Shake was on tap for PD. I was kind of bumming the heat wasn't it's normal in KY, and then straight up pissed once it starting rain while 1/4's were on the gate.

The flight back was quick cause I was sleeping since the 1 hour PD & I got on Sunday night didn't cut it. I got home and laid around until the next morning when training got back in gear. I am 110% sure I wont be updating the blog prior to the Olympic Training race this weekend. It's a busy road from this weekend until that turkey dinner. Chula Vista this weekend, Interbike & Las Vegas next then Atwater, Fresno, Lancaster, Back to Vegas and then it's November!

My finish from grands if I forgot to mention .... 8! It was a little frustrating at first, only cause of my own reasons but really with a stacked class, 10 guys within a few main points going into the main, and a bunch of other titles for me this year kind of puts a total package on things. Nobody else in that top 10 has been where I have this year. I still got the USAC Champion title, State Games Gold Medals, and a trip to OZ this year. It's been a good year and championship season is just starting! Lets get it on!

Training.

So here is my post on Training. HA! That's more my gripe. It's been a few weeks since a decent race for me as I have spent 3 weeks in training mode. 2 weekends of double track sessions, lots of gate time and I have been ramping up the swims, runs and all that other good stuff. It's almost time for NBL Grands, but it seems that once that finishes it will just be a never ending string that takes a toll on the body. Including a week at Interbike and a whole bunch of traveling. It's been good to stick it out at home the past few weeks and not be in a hotel room every night.

It's getting a Little boring being home like this, I guess I am custom to trips all the time. I started working on a pump track but now my back hurts from digging and I got blisters so that's on break. Maybe tonight will be the night the spa finally gets filled back up. In just about a week I will be off to Kentucky for the NBL Grands. It looks like all that rain put the track in shape, its all dried out, calcium sounds like it's down and the track will be ready. Yep.. That's my update so live with it. Not much else going down. Peep the video in this post and watch it all the way so that a donation is made to the ARF. That's all I got folks. Follow me!

Can that be for real? I have not updated in almost 2 months. Well crap, I guess I really screwed up this one. If I have any visitors left, I will attempt to let you know a review of things since June. After leaving on a huge rant about the NBL State series, I guess I can say the following weekend I was in Simi Valley for their race and found a pretty decent track.

I ended up making the trip for Roseville for the ABA National, but all I remember of that is paying 25 bucks to park in weeds, people wrecking all over the place in the main due to feuds between riders in the moto. It sure was fun to watch, hang back and stay healthy cause it was only a week off from my trip down under for the UCI Worlds. I landed in Adelaide pretty darn healthy. I felt good on the track but during day 2, as almost all that rode that track did, I fell. Of all places, it was the rhythm section. I thought I was good, so I practiced another hour until USA practice was done. Within that following day it didn't take a genius to realize the floater in my chest was broken ribs. So I sucked it up on Friday morning and raced but that didn't do much for making it to far in rounds. It just turned up to be a wash of a race for me, but there were many others that similar things during the weekend caused a whole mess of new names at main time. The remainder of the trip hurt! I just couldn't move to great. We did ride another track while we were there, learned that Aussies speak off just a few words similar to inbred rednecks. The place was cool, but gosh darn it just got old after a bit.

After flying back from Australia I had 2 days before flying to Colorado Springs for a trip to the OTC, CTS, and the State Games Of America. It came up as the big tie in to the Olympics, etc. so I got put up to the race. The track was pretty sweet but a few rain drops of Friday caused them to postpone until Saturday morning to run prior to the Saturday night race. It ended up to be 2 days of good weather, 3 Gold Medals and the overall series win for me. Basically I think I got lucky that my energy and training was on point for Australia, then without using an ounce of that volume due to injury, it left me super motivated to win something. Rain came as soon as podiums were done on Sunday but I was off to Denver for a flight home finally.

That skips another week and leaves me to now. I spent most of last week trying to just rest, let these ribs finish healing and take care of a long list of things that are left undone cause I had concentrations elsewhere. DMV, Dr, Classes, Etc. have kept me busy all damn week. I did get to the beach yesterday to hang with the crew. I spun the rode bike today. Finally was able to get back on it after doing to much precise training the past month left me off the bike. Its been good to train without structure the past week, but it's time for NBL Grands, so its back on the boat.

I know everything lacks, even the schedule is left pretty lame so I will break it down on where I will be flying around to for the remainder of the year.

There I said it! ABA Grands. It's still just a "maybe" due to if I feel up to it. I cut out a little bit of the fill like Redline Cup Champs, and some of them NBL Qualifiers since they have way to many races on their list to begin with.

Track drama is way more exciting but Nellis, Ontario, Chula Vista, AV Moto park, Whittier, and a few others are way more exciting topics. Or how about Louisville Christmas Classic. Santa Barbara Weekend

This past weekend I was in Santa Barbara for the NBL CA State Series. Let me tell ya all about it. For weeks now I have been hearing how they got a new track and it's pretty gnar! So we get going early on Friday without our baggage that was supposed to come along with us. Nate & I got there, hung out for a bit, went to the track for practice on Friday. We see a new track in the same spot, new fencing allowing only 1 way in and out for spectators and not much room for canopies that even further restricts the flow. I took to the track and on first impression thought it was just misshaped and didn't flow in my opinion. We rode all evening but quickly realized with the 1st 2 turns being old school 90 degree turns that the race was already over before then so I worked on pinning down a good gate and 1st straight. We bailed after a couple hours cause it wasn't happening. 20 some riders for practice doesn't really get a sick session going. I want to take the time right now to thank the track for not playing 1 note of music over the PA all weekend. It really brought up the legitimate excitement level and kept everyone on point to watch all the exciting racing going on. We left for dinner but after realizing nothing was good and everything but our 1 Saturday night joint is the only place we care for, we went to Ventura for some crab shack. That would be the 2nd time in a day that GMaps GPS got us lost taking us to places closed down or roads that don't exist.

On Saturday morning we got up a little late, hit the track to get charged for parking. Again as usual the track throws up their arms and says they have nothing to do with it and didn't know about it. But the people charging managed to know what time to be there and to have passes made up that say "BMX" on them along with the fact that nobody else going into that park got charged but racers. The track also failed to put the info on the flier mainly in my opinion cause they wanted to hide the fact of being charged. I understand they might not get the dough from it, but it still comes out of every ones pocket and it's not supposed to at the state level. OK enough with my ranting, lets get passed that. I hit the track for practice and on my 2nd gate it doesn't drop thanks to 1 of the 3 rams that are failing at the track that with their ignorance didn't get any of them fixed. If they did it wouldn't have stuck and flipped me over the gate as it didn't drop. So now 10 minutes in I got some raging pain on my hip flexor that has been torn 3 times from those same episodes over the years. My damn finger is broke too thanks to flipping that frozen gate. Not a good thing to waste on trivial things only 20 some days before getting on a plane for a 5 grand trip to Australia. The day went on, I won all the way thru and took 1st. The track never really proved to be a racing track, it was more of a 1 line hang on and salvage what speed you had. Turn 3 is the 1st 180 turn and it's not even aligned with the 4th straight so again useless to make any sort of move. Once racing was done we were just ready to leave and get moving towards the only good about this place. The Beach! It sure isn't the overpriced hotel rooms nobody managed to think about sitting in that board meeting back in December! We spent the afternoon at the beach and it was pretty sweet to get away from all the damn training that's been going down lately. By the evening we were at our regular spot eating and some drinking then it was off to the hotel.

Sunday was the day that just didn't matter for me, I was pretty sore when I woke up and just tugged along the day. I had a class closer to my age today but got the wins and got out of there as soon as we could. We drove it home and even managed to get home in time to hit the evening training session over at the pool. Now it's Monday I am still sore, black and blue from bruising, but it's time to either go be a roadie or a runner. I guess it's my choice today but its all cardio in the books! Until something else skunks me it's back to the daily grind. It seems a little negative but all in all the State Series is still flowing along, handing out them trusty trophies that lure the kids in for more after their epic win against all the super competitive racers that show up at the state level. The winning is majestic after passing on all the thin straights the CA tracks are beginning to build and in the end that's what it's all about! (Take that how you want to)

The Oasis

Hey people. This guy doesn't update I see. I have the power to update this madness whenever I want but like everything else in life things just kinda fade away after a while. Just hit up the track with Cody tonight. On the way out of there he wanted to hit the Thirst Oasis over at the AMPM before we rocked the jacuzzi after my house. We did this plyo workout earlier today so its whats owed to us. So we go in there and he is like pro at this thing. We checked out and next thing I know we are rocking 64 ounce bladder busters and I am thinking to myself how where the hell this thing is going to sit in my car. I hope in and of course it doesn't fit in the cup holder. Cant stick it on the ground because its top heavy. Don't want it in my lap cuz I need to shift plus Mr Happy will shrink. I decided to carry it with my left hand. Seemed like a good enough idea. Well now we are going 100 mph to my house chasing each other through the residential streets. I soon realize that my arms is starting to get tired because I have a 10 lbs cup in my hand and I'm like screeching my tires around curves and stuff. There you have it people.. 5 minutes in the life of a BMX racer

Is it really June? Good and bad come of that. Hey, almost half of another year has blown by. Bad part is, only a few months until I'm older and slower! Another problem is that it's June and raining on me! Not just me, but what the heck I go to Utah for the NBL Regional and hit rain driving there, pre race almost didn't happen cause of rain, then after day 1 of racing on Saturday it rained during day 2 of racing and caused a huge mud pit. Racing was cancelled after 2nd round and I got nailed with my conservative method for the day. I had to race the young guns that were hot roding the 1st straight, so I just chilled during rounds and was going for broke in the main, that never happen due to rain. I ended up with 3rd after some lame ruling of how they decided to call it a rain out? I know I sure complain when were playing slip and slide with the Boys Association and their last 5 races I have been too, but I cant decide what sucks more, racing in the rain, or just not racing. Either way all my crap was muddy when I came home, so I might as well raced.

The next 2 weekends are laying low for me and some big volume of training has been put on me. I am kind of thinking up the impossible by making plans to race at sea level in Adelaide, fly to Colorado and race at over a mile high all within a week. End of July will be UCI Worlds, and then that following weekend is the State Games. Enough with the drama of 2 months away cause coming up will be the NBL State in Santa Barbara where the CA group will try and host something bigger than a local race. Speaking of drama, the best "dam" track seems to have put up some new signs that shows they are not nibbling anymore. Whittier Narrows is back open finally so I am going tonight to check out the action and figure out if the rumors are true that there are new lips on the jumps. That seems pretty lame since it was the very best training track around. Anyway, that's the scoop, I am out!

CA State Weekend

So this past weekend was busy for me. I got some training in, but also had the state race to attend to. Bringing it hometown creates way to much extra workload. I did manage to snap a picture in my spare time to stir up some thoughts. I wont get into prices, but have found out from the direct source that the cost in nearly the exact. But you better check out the photo and see what a $30 race trophy and a $10 race trophy looks like next to eachother. I know certain folks can jump the gun and tell me how there is more to the $30 race like jackets, end of year things, etc. But the plain and simple fact is that it don't cut it for attraction of the new kids. Not only is this a comparison of 3rd to 1st, but it's the only way the state really has of attracting riders with the "aww" factor when they roll in with their brigade for the weekend. It sure isn't the competition lately, it can't be the moto count, maybe it's the track quality? I just don't see much myself when looking at the poor new guy that has nothing to compare it too other than their 50+ moto, 200 rider ABA state race with some monstrous trophies in comparison. Ok, there is my rant and thought to stir everyone. We just gotta stop worrying about how many tubes, pens, and "verifiers" we have for the event, and start catching the key points that bring up rider count.

It sounds like New Mexico was pretty quiet for ABA this past weekend. Nothing to special was happening or at least I didn't hear anything over on twitter. This coming weekend is the NBL Regional in Utah. I gotta trek up there on Friday and fly back on Saturday so I can do my work thing on Sunday. The rest of this week I will be on program for worlds training. Real soon I will be hitting some altitude so I can get ready for that Colorado Springs race when I get back from Australia in August.

Wow To Fresno

Finally had a minute after a taking the whole weekend and saying WOW to the Fresno track. This past weekend at the NBL National it was a treat to be able to feel like we were on a UCI quality track. It's might have been a good thing considering UCI stuff coming up. The place is turning out awesome even besides the track. It's got a super fun trail area and a whole bunch of other playgrounds for bicycles. It's a pretty sweet venue.

It's been another couple weeks since a true update but other than working it's been a pretty uneventful couple of weeks full of training until today when I hit the dentist chair. I had some classes the past couple weeks and that sidelined the program a little, but it's on now. Full training mode for the Worlds in just over a month or so.

The drama continues stirring on the NBL side of things as the boards, presidents and everyone else clashes with other peoples ideas. It's pretty funny. It's like a huge downtown LA gridlock that doesn't move! It's just bad for everything cause people get their big ideas to "get theirs". Either way it's a loss for the ones that get overlooked cause of someones power. I just might jump on the twitter during the meeting just to amuse you that care. Until I take some time to really update just keeping checking that live twitter blog. I don't skip a beat there (yet!)

Las Cruces & Blasterfield

It's been a few weeks since a real update so I figured I better sit down, rest and type something to let you know the life and times of nothing! The trip a couple weekends ago to New Mexico for the Las Cruces Regional actually turned out pretty good even though all of the road trippers bailed last minute. Bunch of corn flakes! Anyway it was left to Nate & I to drive 11 hours each way. The drive over was not that bad, then the track was amazing. We rode Friday for about 5 minutes before Nate dumped it on the pro set and got broke off. I got a 2nd on Saturday and 1st on Sunday racing everyone younger. It turned out I was the oldest rider at the damn race. We got done early Sunday and drove it all the way home. All week I did nothing but unpack and repack so we could split to Bakersfield this past weekend.

Bakersfield was the typical. Same track as the last 100 nationals there. No changes, same blast turn and sandy dirt. Flat starting gate and dusty facility. Same rain as the last 4 nationals I have been too. It rained Friday and the track got slick so I bailed on practice. Saturday was better and with a short rider count I transferred 1st round and went back to the hotel, came back for mains and bonked! My worst lap on a track in months so I ended up 6th place. On Sunday I came back ready to do better and transferred with a good lead then missed the podium in the main by an inch so I ended up 4th. We got stuck driving the long way home thanks to a windmill flying on the freeway.

The last couple days has just started a huge training routine for me. It's in preparation for the worlds and all that summer racing. It's been good and it felt good to bring up the volume some. I got a phone call yesterday about the State Games Of America and it looks like I might be heading to Colorado Springs after Adelaide. That just adds more to the schedule but it would actually replace the Prunedale national. Can you believe ABA hit a new level today and phoned up with a telemarketing message about the redline cup in Camarillo. They don't got me, I am taking the weekend off from the road and working before another 4 weeks in a row. At least 1 of the 4 will be a hometown weekend at X-Roads.

I know I got some e-mails asking for Nates update that he said he was putting up, but hey he got lazy. Keep checking and maybe he will post up. .. Im Out!

Training Week

I kind of didn't get much accomplished in the way of any work this week cause I spent the whole week doing a short training block. I did some training at the center this week and today was no exception. Next week is a drive to New Mexico. I don't know what I was thinking when I made these plans but in 700 miles I will never forget airplane in my plans again. It should be fun as it's turning into a guys road trip.

Speaking of training centers? Did you hear the new ABA national in September at the USA Otc! What happen there.. swooped. Riding should be on the agenda for tomorrow night and then I got 3 days of work before getting packed up for the trek to almost El Paso next week. I should be wanting some time off soon but I just keep searching out the next trip. I am feeling really good about this summer as my power seems to feel good and it's prior to a month of leg work to come so I sure hope come July I can spin to the podium over in kangaroo land. OK, that's it, back to twitter cause it's so much easier.

NBL State Qualifer Review

Got home yesterday from the NBL CA State Race this weekend in Santa Maria. Nate & I drove up Friday afternoon and got there just in time for the wind to be blowing 30mph and nice and chilly on the side of a farmland hill. Got ripped off for practice thanks to a bunk track that wasn't worth my money practicing on. It got better for the weekend but Friday was a pretty lame session for me. Turns and track were not maintained so they just wanted the Friday practice money. Not to mention the track isn't really up to spec. The turns are way short, the last straight is less than 10 feet wide and the gate is inconsistent so you don't even bother racing with any sort of devotion cause you will get hurt.

Nate was pretty tired on Friday so we charged down to the hotel and other than eating didn't do much. Saturday morning was a much nicer day for weather and they even spruced up their track a little. With a little water, sweeping and chalk it sure looked a lot better than the day before. Gate was still bunk and last straight was still under 10 feet wide. (HA). I almost got to race the speedy kids but a combo class kept me out of it. I got 1st all day long, and glad at main time I wasn't with the kids cause the gate proved itself and flipped a whole rack of them. More for my healing shoulder it would have been a setback, but I would have yelled at the guy until no tomorrow over that crap since it's his own ignorance that a perfectly capable rack of 8 guys that are top of the class flipped a gate. Note to the track.. fix your gate and widen your last straight cause your breaking your contracts! After racing, we had a big "what if" theorizing all the possibilities that might happen in the Golden state. Finally as the sun almost went down we got to Pismo Beach. Had a pretty cool evening with the rest of the team.

Sunday morning was a late start thanks to the incompetence of miscommunication on when a race is supposed to be held. We started an hour late so after taking 1st again all day Nate & I jumped in the rig and headed home long before racing finished. Highlight of the trip would be that I got fresh fruit for the week! We had dinner, drove on home and I was pretty tired for some reason so I just ended up falling to sleep watching Nitro Circus. I found a picture on the camera this morning, so you go ahead and tell him if that looks wide enough for 4 wide?, 3 wide?

This morning I found out the legend Anthony Sewell passed away. He was still young, and had even thought about riding again recently. I just seen him in February at the national and loved talking to him every chance I could pluck him for a little history. I am off to train for the day, get some shopping done and get ready for a couple days of work. Next weekend is the Redline Cup Qualifier and then a break the following weekend before New Mexico. I'm OUT!

After the NBL Regional this past weekend I told myself on Monday that I was going to post a blog, then I said I would get to it the next day, that led all the way to Wednesday & now it's Thursday night. Another week down, and another weekend that Nate & I are about to pull out of town to go meet the crew for stop 5 of 6 weekends in a row!

I ended up 2nd place both days last weekend as I rode around the track with the 1 handed steer thanks to the shoulder injury I have been nursing the past couple weeks. My treatment seemed to move along pretty good over the weekend & during this week. Being in the hometown last weekend helped cause I got to keep updated twice a day with ultrasound and all the good stuff from Double "G" therapy. I feel like I can almost use the strength in my arm, but I want it 100% for the heavy training block in May so I will most likely take it easy as I finish out the next couple weeks.

This weekend is on the CA coast in Santa Maria so it better not get the sea otter winds kicking up on us over there! It's the 1st 2009 state race and the board meeting should be a good one so I wont be missing that party!

USAC Review

So as the next weekend of racing begins I better catch you up on the last weekend. It's been a busy week since flying back from Texas last Sunday night. I had to work a couple days and ended up doing re-hab on my shoulder, prep work on the track and getting some things done with Nate for everyone staying at the compound this weekend. Yah, were going local this weekend so I get to sleep in my own bed for the weekend!

Last weekend was Desoto, Texas and the ABA Supernationals, and the USA Cycling National Champs. If you didn't catch the news on the eyewitness channel then your late breaking info left you out of knowing that I am the USAC Champion. I pulled it off on a short sprint arena track. Got the gate, first straight and led the lap. It was pretty sweet on top of the podium in the red,white & blue champion jersey. That was a good win after a pretty good national on Friday placing 2nd. It was all short lived as I took 4th on Sunday. My shoulder deteriorated to the point of failure and I am now working and getting more the 3lbs of strength at therapy and living it up long enough to bust it at the track each night as I refuse to give it a break. All my own fault but it's busy season and I know doc says 6 weeks, but I am going off dog years, so I am back on the bike.

Tonight was the pre-race for the regional national this weekend. I won it, only cause a rooster came up in turn 2. Either way it was a sloppy win. On to the weekend and I am pretty sure i will be in pain for most of it as my shoulder is going to be the deciding factor my performance. It's a home track advantage so I might be able to slip on through. Still a few more weeks until a break but at least I will be ready for a pretty big training block in May to prepare for Australia in July. I better get off to bed or else I will just be chasing that element along with the other 30 to worry about as the weekend goes on!

Jackpot National Review

So they tell me I gotta do the good old reviews again. With only 2 empty weekends between now & August I'm going to have to rebel and stay simple with just the juicy stuff. You would be bored anyway after following twitter all weekend.

Thursday was a drive up to Las Vegas. We made it quick once we left, but we didn't leave when we wanted thanks to UPS being later than they usually are. Cant leave with the goods! We got there and decided since the rest of the vegas team boys were over at the track doing a little quite session we figured stopping by and checking out the track would be good for the bucket list. I stood on the track for a few minutes and gave up on looking and grabbed my wheels and soon felt what everyone was talking about on the track. Some lippy walls to be jumping out there. 28 footers. We left there, stayed at the bowling balls house.

Friday- Nate, Rob, and myself went over to the new City Of Bicycles shop in vegas. Nate's getting sick wheels done up for 2 weeks from now. I scored 130 dollar brakes and we had some lunch, checked into the hotel and hit the track for the practice session. 10 minutes before pre race closed I decided to get in on the action. I got 2nd that night. Turns out I ended up getting 2nd all weekend. Just got out ponied by 1 person all weekend. Not by much so that was a good outlook for myself considering the distance tuttle can put on some people.

Saturday at the track was the same old, nothing to new going on around the rumor mill. There was nearly 80 motos and it ran at an OK pace. i think we were outta there and back in the hotel not to far after 3. That gave us plenty of time to spectate at the party pit inside Excalibur while waiting for a seat at the Dicks Last Resort. The whole team had some dinner there and it's quickly becoming a regular dinner place. There is one in Dallas so we might just have to represent again! After dinner Patrick, Nate and I went out to Robs house for his daughters birthday party. We dragged into the hotel pretty late for the 2nd night in a row! The ice machine decided to be outside the window of my room in our suite. I wanted to open the window at 3AM and ask why the heck they need ice during those hours of the night.

Sunday was an early morning and to the trainers dislike I filled my fuel tank with a coffee frap! It did the track as I nipped 1st place during round 1. I took 2nd every lap the rest of Sunday but what the heck, at lest both days I did come around with a win now and then. We would have been done Sunday a whole lot sooner but in the pro main there was a video finish decision to be made and since the new "talent" NBL put in to replace the perfectly qualified world ranked official couldn't come up with a decision to how to solve the tie. A tie because the scoring crew missed it and he didn't keep the video loop pointing at the finish line, he chose to point it at the ground. So without a clear view of what the finish was his talented executive decision was to have a race off. What the hell is a race off in BMX? Is that even in the rule book? Its been more than a day since I learned of his resolution to the problem and I still cant stop laughing. I only wish the people involved would have thought long enough to actually agree to it and see what he came up with. This aint time trials!

We got out after mains and took a long drive home. Got stuck in traffic, had lunch cause we were tired of the traffic and then got stuck in more traffic cause of construction, then got stuck in more traffic cause of an accident and then finally got home with enough time to get to bed! I got a pretty late start this morning but the day went on and I am back on schedule. 2 days & I am out for Texas. More next week kids!

What it do nephew?? It's been a while since I got up on this whole shindig. Right now I am waiting for clothes to dry so I can pack up and head to Las Vegas. I'm gunna go get wasted... On BMX that is! Heard there is a HHUUUGGEE triple in the 1st turn as they call it. The dot net and I have been throwin' sick whips and turnbars over the triple at the track down the street so we're not sweating the hype. Lots of stuff has been happening over the past month, but the new race season is here. Well it's been here. I was stinking up the place in Goodyear just like the year prior. I have been carpooling to the track with Cody everywhere so hopefully it pays off. BMX scene is way better up in the desert. People actually ride their bikes rather than being yuppies in the infield checking to see which tooth sprocket Timmy Turnbar is running, and if they get free grips from their sponsor. Speaking of which I'm rolling a profile sprocket and ODI grips. My hubs are supposed to show up today too! I'm stoked. Getting a new bike together for the new season. I'm going to wait till after Desoto to get it going though. I have to go to Cody's house in a minute to pick up my new jersey. Its hard riding .4 miles to get to his house. Well I'm out...

March Madness

Here it goes... Before ya know it, it will be November and I will be sitting around doing nothing! It's going to take off real quick with not an open weekend in sight. Tomorrow I am off to Las Vegas for the NBL National, followed by Texas for USAC the following weekend and close to home for the end of the month with a new round of traveling for April. The past few weeks I have just been trying to add the performance in with the volume and last Saturday at the track I felt some power that I had not gotten to feel in a while since my volume of training has been so high it's been hard to put any intensity. I am pretty energized to start the long months of racing coming up. I kind of have a new image on having fun and it seems to be paying off in the way of speed. Lots of friend time lately and maybe most recently with some changes has made for a refreshed feel without a huge gear bag dragging along, if ya know what I mean!

Nate & I are driving up tomorrow for a little early trip "sightseeing" in the sin city. By Friday it will be all business as we put some practice time in on the track that has been built to "ball" up the regulars speeders. From the sounds of it there have been some pretty lippy tall & long jumps added just to make or break you. It doesn't seem so exciting to start off a long trail of racing with a make it or break it deal, but looking ahead there will be many more weekends if NBL decides to be the No Body League by doing some fouled up things like the rumors I have heard about the track. Of course it's all rumor so until I get there and ride it for myself I wont know how I really feel. I will be throwing down with the Twitter updates as the weekend goes on, so if you can make some understanding of the randomness on the old twitter rolodex then you can keep up on the happenings this weekend.

I know your thinking it must be something good if I am posting twice in a week since in comparasion to the length between post lately! It aint. Nothing special other than I found the video pretty funny. It's comical how much we lose it when were on the road at some of these races. If you cant figure out what I mean by "lose it" just watch the video of a rider I am with a whole bunch during the year. It's from the national earlier this month in the rain racing and P. Doty's attitude pretty much explains how we all felt that weekend at the end of the video about being cold & rain!

My training today was good, but now I sit at my desk watching the rain outside. It's a good thing I am behind on paperwork or else I wouldnt have anything to do!

Pesky Weather

The last couple weeks sure have been frustrating when it comes to weather. After being completely soaked after Perris it sure took a few days to even want to clean the 3 inches of mud off my bike. I got my stuff cleaned and ready to go, but the rain and weather put another road block in it last weekend. The week had some snow put into the mix where I live and finally this weekend has been good so I tried to get in as much riding as possible the last couple of days. It looks like I might only get another day of decent weather outside as it's real cloudy today!

Yesterday the crew & I did a long session at NBL then went over to the local ABA to race. Local for me! Everyone came up to my area yesterday and did some riding, but Friday night I was at the "famous" Orange. I guess that whole "OC" thing is for real since I paid 2 extra bucks to ride a cookie cutter track! Nate & I had to pick up his TV from his cousins and then drive home. We got back way late and I had to run the track yesterday morning so it was not much sleep!

I am pretty much scraping the ABA National in Phoenix from my schedule cause I don't want to bother with 2 days and from what I was told the long forecast shows rain. It still only gives a couple weeks until Las Vegas and the uphill swing of Texas, CA Regional, CA State, and a whole bunch more in a row!

National Weekend

I am back from the ABA So Cal National weekend. It was a weekend full of rain thanks to the weather. Fighting the mud made for a pretty crappy weekend. Friday night started out with practicing being pretty good, the track was still in a better condition. By the pre race on Friday night it wasn't looking to bad and other than the practice schedule being moved around Friday wasn't to interrupted until the rain fell at main time. I won Friday night and made a dash for some dinner and the hotel. Nate & I were entertained easily by doing nothing that night.

Saturday morning didn't look to bad, the rain seemed to be staying away other than a super moist morning. As racing began the rain hit. The track didn't get to slick, the rain stop ed and racing continued on. ABA did the 1 moto transfer to speed things up since they started at almost 1PM on Saturday. I transferred and took a 4th in the main after a little mud skidder in the 2nd turn and coming from the back. It had started to rain about 4 minutes before we hit the track at main time. Sunday morning it was already raining and racing was delayed. They got racing going, ran 1 moto transfers again and I took another 4th in the main thanks to hitting the mud hole out of the gate, clipping out and being way back in the 1st turn. It was just pretty frustrating to have the power, and felt like I could go faster, but just couldn't get it to happen. The conditions just sucked all weekend. I feel like I need a rematch! After racing Sunday it was about 5, so we hit the Hooters with a bunch of our local friends and caught up. I got home just as late as a travel race for some damn reason! I got a few days this week to spend some time getting the mud off everything I own. Once again an ABA race gone bad for me. I'm just not going to sign up anymore!

So Cal Nationals

So as it continues to rain I am off to the sunny so cal nationals. ABA/UCI have the big top show going down this weekend in Perris and I am heading out the door shortly for the first of 2 rounds of rain practice. The track report from a little bit ago this morning was that it was covered, currently raining and flooded around the area. I think since I practiced there recently I can stay away from the mud until race times. I'm thinking if I was not committed to this race I would just be staying dry and on the training program for the madness to come up in March. I should have some lively updates coming from my twitter on the sidebar during the weekend & I will try and put together a decent writing when I get some time next week. I got my rain jackets, goggles, mud shoes and the whole deal ready to roll out of here so I am hitting the road!

Practice

Practice has basically been the game for me lately. It had been getting a little burn out so I opted for local racing the past week or so and it seems to be making things more fun. I guess I still get a kick out of racing 17 year olds and beating them. Tonight had a full rack of Olympians and foreigners practicing at Perris. It's only a week before the big top rolls into town and the UCI circus will continue for it's stop in California. Tomorrow is pretty much going to be more of the same with the exception of it being closer than 100 miles to practice. It will be right out my back door even with a photo shoot for a magazine at the track.

I don't have any Superbowl plans cause I will be working, but I would rather watch the drama of a different kind of Superbowl unfold at the NBL congress this weekend as board members resign, tracks threaten, and in the end it will be more of the same! Ha I hope not. It's time for bed cause I am hitting the pool in the morning. I'm Out.

I found some clever looking shirts tonight online. Kind of ironic and funny & think I will be getting one soon just to sport around the KM so he knows who I support. As for the rest of the weekend I did some local riding Thursday & Friday night. I hit Perris and the place is the best I have seen it in recent years and with the national just a few weeks away that is perfect. I worked yesterday and today was a pretty good day of progress on some major issue I have been having. I did a long run for training this morning and then spent the day out. I got most of the week off so I want to log some heavy time training so its a smooth glide into Perris the following week. I better get of the net and start getting some real work done!

3 days later I finally get to telling you about the drama from this past weekend and the NBL Coyote National. I drove out Friday morning to Phoenix with teammates Jeremy & Nate. Of course Nate was sleeping the whole trip there so Jeremy & I just talked strategy. Not really but we had a sick sesh of music. A couple hours of practice was left once we drove the 5 hours. The track seemed a little less complicated than last years track it was super smooth. We checked into the hotel found nothing for food and went to bed.

Saturday found myself at main time wondering if I would lose the first lap of the day at the most important lap. I managed to win, as I did Sunday too. I didn't lost a lap all weekend and ended up winning the big bucks both days. I really didn't feel my training was spot on just yet, since I took a slower & relaxed approach to this year. I seem to have put on some strength and it shows down the start.

As for the weekend of fun filled NBL drama. My first meeting of Ken being the new guy at NBL showed the race would run smooth but at the cost of losing a real cool guy named Dave cause from my sources he was fired. Further down the line shows that there is a huge shake up with the tracks over Mr millers firing and even a bigger long term mess when it comes to the tracks being rebels. Overall I have good hopes that NBL will be better than it's been if he follows up with some big time plans. We already know the tracks end up way better built with NBL. The new tracks coming up with NBL lately have just been insane good. I see nothing but better with the people building their tracks.

Anyway did you notice Universal Sports is filming the UCI events for cable these days. Go figure. Get your big screen ready cause first filming is in just a couple days in Oklahoma... ABA.

AZ Weekend Ahead

The live update twitter thing sure does get the best of you. I'm not stuck on it, but it sure is easier than logging in and putting up a real update. It's been more than 10 days since I stepped up with any ground breaking news.

I have actually been super busy every day. I spent almost an entire weekend on equipment digging up a new X-Roads track over in Lucerne Valley for NBL. The track ended up super sweet and beats a whole bunch of National tracks I have been to. If you had ever been there your pretty much going to not be able to figure out what to do with yourself once you see the new track you will realize not one inch of the previous layout exists. That whole week got wasted away working on that.

The past few days I have been finalizing a bunch of sponsor stuff before the group hits the road for another year this weekend. It's my first race of the year, but a few of the crew were at Reno this past weekend even though the official debut is this weekend for us. I am pretty excited about the new year and sure am ready to lay down some good national scores in the first few months so I can concentrate on international training for the next few after that.

If you keep a watch this weekend I am sure I can manage a twitter update now and then from the road. Otherwise i will wrap it all up next week in a review.

New Year

Happy New Year everyone. It took me a few days to put the 1st post of 2009 up but I sure got it going now. Nothing special. I did finally take a little break and I do mean little. For some reason I was motivated to push through the small break the racing world gets and trained mostly everyday to some extent. Of course I did end up having a mountain day in the snow last Monday along with the movies and Christmas dinner just a few days before that. The ball dropped and later that day dirt was being moved for the new training track for a few months. I am pretty much spending the whole week making sure my local track will be solid for 2009. I seem to be getting the hang of the twitter updates, but you gotta be bored to want to read up on what time I drive, read the newspaper and do gate starts!

It's really less than 2 weeks before Goodyear but I felt real fast tonight at gate practice so if I can maintain I think it should be a good weekend. That pesky weather hit last year, but I still want another shot at the track. Before I go I just want you to check this out and figure out how big of a tool someone has to be to really want this to work. The funny thing is that it's tied in with ABA. Olympic quality right there my friend. Off to bed -Yep at 8PM!

Everyone have a Happy Holiday. I spent the last few days just chilling and doing my normal thing. I happen to have the whole week off so it turned out to be kind of a Holiday for me. Other than my workouts I really have not been doing much. I told myself I would stay off the bike for a little bit, but last night I couldn't help but go ride the new track even though it was pushing 32 degrees. It had a little sponge effect going on from the snow but the night still turned out OK. Coming up next week I might be doing a little sightseeing with my mom since we don't spend to much time together since we both end up super busy all year.

I put up the new Schedule and along the side of this blog I did add the whole Twitter thing. It's new to me but I had a couple people telling me to get on the wagon with it. It's kinda cool other than, so as long as it doest get old answering the "what are you doing" a few times a day then maybe I will keep it up and entertainment will not be lost since when I usually get around to updating I have forgotten all the drama that goes on the past couple days.

It's supposed to be let it snow, but that was yesterday! Today I just want it to melt so I can move on with some outdoor stuff. It sure sucks being stuck indoors. Driving go so crappy I didn't even hit the spin class, I just spun right in front of my own TV for a couple hours watching useless items on TV. Basically it snowed for about 12 hours yesterday. It's insane how deep the snow is here. I guess I get pretty bored locked up indoors cause I found this online.

Anyway I hope your amused. I am off to go sledding. Well in a car that is!

Ten Days

Hey, So I guess it's been 10 days since I updated. It's mainly cause I have had about the same amount of productivity as the NBL state board meeting I went to last weekend. You knew I couldn't get away without not saying it! Basically it's more of the same for 2009 when you take a look at the overall state for NBL. All this hype about an octagon battle for a new commissioner, a new state structure but when the worry with the group is over tube supply at races it's got a different direction. It is look pretty good with 2 new stops on the series, 3 money open stops, and the best part about is is we shook the water otter! In some better news I signed Squirt Lube as a sponsor for 2009 along with bringing back all the 2008 sponsors it's going to be a great year. I already have spent the last couple weeks booking flights and should be bouncing around pretty good next year. ABA & NBL both have some good racing next year. My local track did an ABA rebuild but I heard they ran out of dirt so unless they can use that energy drink they always push and create something from nothing, I think they might have laid a little short.

I am going out to every ones final weekend of racing tomorrow, then I will just lay low with some more pool time for the next couple weeks making sure I keep my train on so I will be hip for Goodyear in January. If you have not heard all the CPSC drama the past few weeks I will be first to tell you it's going to change the industry thanks to the government thinking we ride "toys". I will have to fill you in another day cause it's about time for Friday night.

Hiding Out

So the ABA Grands were this weekend and I was hiding out at home watching Go211, doing riding on my own, watching Nate pound away at building a new house. He gets a little mad when I did a Brodie in the living room floor! I always wanted to do that, now was my only chance cause tile goes in next week. A certain So Cal track for NBL has a padlock on the gate so that was pretty bunk Saturday night. This coming weekend is the throw down for the NBL State series as they have their annual meeting of the minds. I will be there but if things get a little drawn out of the porta john specifics I'm brining an mp3 this time for that crap! Today's picture is the burrito that Nate needs to find, its the best of both worlds for him! He loves Chipotle and loves bicycles! Anyway Its time for work.

Thanksgiving

I know its already thanksgiving but I'm already late, so until after the holiday this update will have to be enough for the week. So I figure I should tell everyone to go eat that turkey and get chubby. Most everyone I know is either on their way to Oklahoma or Tennesse. I have a ton of gossip that I still can't spill, but I can tell you that the changing should be equal if you catch my drift.

I spent this past weekend moving Nate a bit closer to me. We didn't really waste anytime before getting the train on, but he kinda bonked 5 laps into swimming. Nothing that chipotle can't fix up later in the day. He already visited the closest one to home and likes their portion control. Just wait until he rides with their team rider, he will realize chipotle doesn't fuel their riders! We really have not been up to much since the awards a couple weeks ago. My new training schedule should be fun the next few months. I am already thinking ahead since I'm booked for a flight down under already for uci next year. Anyway I'm done tapping the keys on my blackberry for now so go eat turkey

State Awards

This past weekend was the NBL race & awards. The race was an all day thing after a 1PM sign up the racing did go fast and I won some cash. For some reason my buddy P Doty won more than me, and then Jeremy won even more! Together we took most of the money so it worked out! I think we might have left 50 bucks for 3 others! The awards this year actually looked good. The jackets looked pretty slick. It seems like every time I turn around I get some new scoop on track happenings. Just when I learned to hit the pro set at Taft its going back to little league status! Livermore has THIS going on. How clever? A ton of other stuff is going on so that's why I have been busy. Nate is moving into the house by me, so we can build the training compound. I think he was a little pissed that I was over there measuring the backyard instead of the living room. I spent Sunday at Magic Mtn. I actually stayed the whole day, had fun, and am going to spend the rest of this week just resting up before I take on a off season training schedule before the January nationals.

So I played up the typical Sunday minus the spin class and workout. I really didn't go out of the house and managed to realize why I do. I found out things just go to a new low on TV every time I actually watch it. Did you know they actually have a show that follows the parking enforcement? They actually make hour long episodes of people getting boots put on their cars. The worst part of the whole story is I watched it! The only thing I was missing was a cruise over to chipotle for the old bowl? Then I would know what I day in the life of __ . Never mind! Dude, what happen? It got chilly quick in So Cal! I got to dig out my base layer for some night time gates. I heard some BMX'ers went to court today and were found innocent on all counts. That sure is good for someones team manager!

I have been cooking up all kinds of new things for next year, but there are some cool things gonna happen before next year. Speaking of this year I got two new sponsors as the off season begins. Ice Toolz will be the wrenches for my chain and Squirt Lube is what I will be putting on that chain! Can someone tell me why a closed down track has managed to take the hands of someone that wants to plug an energy drink named after an illegal drug in track press releases? I don't care about tipping cans, planning the next world class deal or whatever. I just want a track open so someone better make it happen!

I need to race! I am digging a hole in district points and about to lose that gold NBL high point plate if I don't purchase some points soon! I am off to ride, work like a slave and ride some more by Sunday.

Rain & Road

Well I have not updated in a while but have not done anything to special. Today we were planning this road ride but the rain struck and it then Nate & I didn't even do Plyometrics like we were supposed too. Before I knew it I spent the day lounging around and doing laundry. It's about that time of year for the off season since ABA Grands is out for me. I still got tons of tied up drama to spill out to ya, but I don't wanna piss the wrong people off just yet! I got a few new sponsors that should be all signed up by the end of the week so I will have to relay that info later in the week. My mind is pretty blank right now so I should just shut up and cut my losses!

Silver State Recap

Just got back home from the NBL Silver State National & Regional Championships. I won the regional series thanks to a clean sweep of 1st during that race I was able to beep the title for another year. The usual long weekend was no exception this year. 13 hours later on Saturday we got back to our room that we left early that morning. Friday was chill with a low rider count for practice. A bunch of Frenchman were in town. My national laps were pretty good with the exception of the main. That sure sucked I won some laps Sunday and then blew up on the big show! Took a 3rd both days. Nothing for a couple weeks until NBL's final state deal for the year. Its going to go be a quick couple months cause NBL has Arizona in January again unless I get some tricky Reno ideas!

I am here for my weekly update! Anyone checking the website must have gotten pissed by now since I gave no details for a week. I basically have been dealing with lots of nothing. I got my train on a couple days, worked a couple days and rode gates a day. That leads us right up to now as I pack to leave for Sin City and the NBL National, Regional Championships, Dicks Last Resort, Super Wal Mart, and 3 days of listening to rumors spread about something! Basically the typical package weekend with the added double race championship day on Saturday. I want some good points for 2009 so I need to concentrate on a couple good scores to start the year off. Either way if your coming to Vegas well be at Dicks on Saturday night! I'm out, 3 hour drive!

Rest Weekend

So nothing going on for me this weekend for once. A quick weekend break before the NBL National next weekend in Sin City. I got my legs back as the week moved on this week and I should be all geared up to be a weekend warrior by tomorrow. I figure on having a couple sessions Saturday and maybe Patrick & I will spin the road bikes around the block on Sunday. Last night was a total break for me. I had a pretty fun time being out late, but now its Friday morning so I wont tell! Maybe after the weekend I can finally lay out some drama for you! If it swings the way I am looking then I will just let you know how it went down. If it goes against what I think then I will just have to put it all out there or put them on Blast, as everyone tells me! Is Disney Cup this weekend? I guess I will have to follow up on the racing this weekend. I sure hope they do it next year cause I will make it, this year just flew over my head until it was to late to grab a ticket! State Champs

I just got home from Prunedale, CA and the State Championship at Manzanita Park. I got home last night but went to bed cause I didn't feel like doing anything. Nate & I drove home but seemed to make a 6 hour drive almost 8 cause we stopped so much. We went for pizza, but stoped a couple more times so it added up quick. He was all busted up so he got restless! No Chipotle! I won class both days, raced pro/money and got a 6th or 7th depending who you talk too. I spent all my winnings already. I did learn to never do a 60 minute plyometric workout and drive 6 hours to state championship to race 2 classes both with mains! My legs hurt all weekend to the point where it was hard to get up! It's pretty chilly at home, my legs are toast and the wind is blowing so training today might get ugly.

Circus Moves on

This past weekend the traveling circus was in Lancaster for hurricancaster national. Everyone tells me it was better on Sunday but I really didn't care to check it out. The track was pretty good but it's just a waste in the wind tunnel. I don't care how much you can tell me it was nice, should have been nice, or is the weekend before but it's been windy every time I have ever gone around them parts of California. The rain was a joke and the track didn't hold up half as well as Washington a few weeks ago. After 3 mains the place was slick. I am not sure how 165 motos took until 4PM to hit mains, but that didn't help considering the rain started as mains did.

Either way it's time to move the circus up to northern California on the coastline for this weekends NBL State Championship. It better not drop water from the sky! I don't have much hope since in June at the National it managed to rain on us! It sure is ironic after a board meeting last year we were told Southern California could never run a race in February cause we would get rained on! Here we are heading to the drizzle coast in October for a race, the same place the same person that told us it rains in February sat in June under an umbrella being an official! Anyway I got some big things spreading around but I can't spread a rumor just yet so maybe soon I can spread some good news and or spread some dirty tactics! I am out to train, to do gates this evening and work the next couple days before our friendly 6+ hour drive to the Monterey Bay area on Friday. Nate is coming with me so maybe we can stop at Chipotle since he eats it everyday. I got a 30 minute conversation I need to take off my blackberry for ya about how great the place is. The funny thing is, he isn't my friend that's sponsored by them.

After washing my clothes, cleaning mud off my bike & getting mud out from every place in my gear I would like to extend my thanks to ABA for the 2nd mud fest in less than a month! Maybe it wasn't so much the wind that killed today. It was the fact that the wind chilled 30mph winds all day long really made things stupid. Then as mains begin so did the rain. The track didn't even hold out like Seattle a couple weeks ago. This deal turned slicker than ABA's marketing technique's! Of course by the last main of the day when I get the pleasure of riding the track it was hell track and just cause Cru showed up today didn't mean we had to have it. I ended up with a 3rd for the day and another bike dripping mud!

Also if you had not already heard, as I did when I got to the track yesterday morning, the voice we were used to hearing for so many years with NBL lost that more than 2 year battle with cancer. Next weekend I will be at the NBL Champs riding. Just where she would want everyone to be!

If the Golden State National turns out as the weather shows it there will be a bunch of hate to ABA. Does ABA even care one bit about the riders. I know everyone is just going to blow it off as "weather" and that nobody can predict that far in advance the weather for an area. But I am no weather man, never took a day of education in weather and I said the day the announced the race location the wind was going to suck! Well below is Saturdays weather report!

I just realized this morning it's October. What the heck happen to the season! This weekend is the ABA Golden State national, next weekend is NBL State Championship, then a couple weeks later will be the Regional championships and the first 2009 national. It will be just a few more races after that and I will be calling it a year! Some exciting stuff is about to go down but I cant write about it just yet. It's better than sliced bread so I gotta keep it a secret until all the "I's" are dotted. I got a bunch of exciting things happening with my 2009 plans and sponsors that you will see come November so if you can make it through another month of boring updates I can tell you about 2009. I better get back to training this morning cause Nate is coming over to check on the new training facility here in the desert! He is actually going to have to train if he is a block away from mine!

Interbike week

I am back from Seattle, Las Vegas and a whole bunch of meetings, work, riding and more. After getting back from Washington this past weekend I made my way to Interbike for the paddle bike displays! Sometimes when your at the show you really don't feel much different that being in the Chinese silk market. Nate & I did some appearances around most of our sponsors schedules and then took on the usual hunt to see the new & cool. I seen the 2009 line of Kuwahara bikes, ate some top secret PowerBar Blast and made sure I still look cool in the new Rudy Project shades.

The week sure was better than being in the rain struck Seattle area. Who the hell puts a race outdoors at the beginning of fall in Seattle? I guess it would be the same people that are putting a race in the wind tunnel called Lancaster. The track for Redline cup was a decent track but nothing more than the left, right, left, 4 straight little roller, nothing big ABA national track. But then to add the rain just made it dumb. Kitty litter does not stop rain, it just makes the mud soft. If there was not so many good sights to see in Seattle it really would have been a jacked up trip and I would be pretty pissed.

Back to interbike. I can't really think of anything else that was that super during the show. I got to see Cru Jones! We watched the Crit race Thursday night, left Vegas nearing midnight, got home by 2, was ready for work by 4 and was working by 6! That should explain how yesterday at work went. This morning I did gates at the dust bowl called X roads, but I should be going to NBL again tonight for some gates.

I won the pre race and managed to do the power to mud ratio while pedaling today so I got the win. Todays picture is my muddy kuwahara after the main event win today.

ABA State Final

I was at the state finals this weekend for ABA but have no clue what place I finished. I didn't go back to the awards and didn't keep track during the year. I took 2nd on Saturday, but that don't mean much since ABA has that funky system of letting someone in an beginner moto take wins all day long without a chance to blow them away on the gate then you get pointed with them at the end of the day. So a rookie might beat me! After the finals on Saturday I went up to NBL to do some gates before going home at 10PM! The best part of the weekend was watching Carnes tell a girl she looks like she jumped out of a luck charms box on MTV. I'm heading for Seattle this weekend for Everett, WA and the ABA redline cup championships. It's off to Interbike when I get back from there so there is no time for fun. Wait a minute, its all fun!

Whats up? I haven't updated anything in a while. Those around me on a daily basis might tell you that I am sleeping. I got fired from the carnival and have been out of work for some time now. I guess you could say I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar. Really I was just taking home bags of cotton candy that I had made extra from that day. I didn't think it was a big deal but apparently the ride manager did when he caught me and told the big cheese in the office trailer.

Onto better news. Yesterday I went to the track to get in a little practice. Cody met me down there along with some other folks. Cody brought my bike down from grands bike drop off up in the desert. After a good 15 minutes and 47 seconds I had on some new bars and grips and I was ready to ride. I didn't feel like riding clips so I busted out some pedals I had laying around in the garage with some reflectors embedded into them. They were awesome until it came time to race. There are like 5 dull as hell grip stubs sticking out of them suckers that hold your feet. I went over the second table, slipped a pedal, and just about kung fu kicked Joe in the face. He laughed at me for being a squid and bumped me in the turn. I think Cody ended up winning last night after it was all said and done.

The Dub 7 spent the night at my house so we could road ride today. We decided to go to the beach. He read online about a trail that goes by the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We road to the beach and when we got there we thought we were in China again because we were dodging people and cars. We pretty much played chicken with oncoming traffic down these side roads and Cody didn't notice that he almost made some guy fall off of his motorcycle. We saw the boat and I think I pulled a butt muscle on the way back cuz I'm limping. I got caught at a red light and Cody was way up there so I was trying to catch up. Then this guy on a motorcycle yells at me saying how the speed limit is 35 and to slow down. I said don't hate because my legs are faster than your motor. So about 20 minutes later my legs bonked and Cody was waiting for me on the riverbed exit for like 15 minutes.

We ate dinner and he took off so he could go on a date. I said chicks are for fags, but he went anyway. Ha! Anyway Happy Grandparents day everyone!

Being Local

I have been home for a few days from Kentucky but really have not gotten much done but get my things back together. Since this weekend has a few different things going on and I couldn't decided where to go I am just going to chill local and do some gate practice, ride the local tracks and go for a road ride this weekend. The next few weeks start to get really busy since ABA State championships in coming up, then redline cup, interbike, and a whole mess of racing in October. This would be my last chance to relax but I would rather not so I will see everyone out this weekend riding, unless of course you got a life.

NBL Grands is in the book and the national championship for me was a little on the shaky side. I couldn't really shake my stocked moto during the day. I made it all the way into Semi's and a video protest shut my day down before main time. A couple slips down the points ladder after being sidelined for mains and I was quickly down to 7th place in the nation. I felt strong, performed good all weekend and considering my motos was the main at the end of the day it showed where I should have been. I will make sure I practice my dive bomb 1 1/2 story drop into turn 2 just a little better next year. I had 2 people slip by me on that one and cost me a big work up back to the transfer spot in the 1/4 main. Nate's pimping a top 20 plate this year coming in at #18. My hommie Jeremy put the most amazing laps together to end up #3. Were about to go out for the night to end the national season off like always with a trip to the river front! Back by sunup for a flight home in the hurricane!

A quick update from Days 1, 2 & 3 here in Kentucky would be that rain has been dodged everyday. Last night during the UGP open it was looking pretty shady for a few minutes as the turns did get wet from the thunderstorm but they were dry real quick. Day 1 was today and other than being stacked up in a moto I got a consistent 3rd to move into Day 2. Pro is tonight so it's time for a quick nap and back to the track. I already hit the normal tour spots for the week, Nate & I have put the rental car to it's test and racing is going good so check back tomorrow for a new national number!

I feel like I keep telling myself to just breath all day long! So I got up at 5AM this morning to help the patty wagon get packed up and head to Kentucky. I woke up, on my drive, my phone totally blew up on me and didn't work for 6 hours so that created massive e-mails piling up. I get home and went on with working on, packing, etc. This afternoon I got over to get a new phone and the guy has no luck getting it to even turn on so I take the hit and buy a new phone. Before I even slapped my credit card down my phone turns on sitting on the counter. At this point there is no way I want to pay 400 bucks anyway so I take off with my phone that "works". I got packed, ready to leave soon and am on my way to the airport this evening for a long flight to the bluegrass. If my phone dies again I'm going to be pissed, cause with my luck it will die when I most need it.

I should be updating during the trip with the happenings at the NBL Grand National. This is the first of a long string of championship events in the next few months so at least I leave feeling good, ready to rock, and feeling pretty healthy.

Bashing

BMX sure has started to take a bashing since the whole Olympic deal. It's almost funny how stupid most smart people can get. Have you noticed almost every sport's outlet for media has began to bash the sport. I have seen everything from articles telling how BMX stold Baseball, to adults on kids bikes! Well we didn't steal baseball's spot. The IOC gave up 2 other cycling events to put the two BMX events into the program. It seems the only the people can get right is that it's a kids bike for sure. I got mine straight from Elliott in E.T. I don't think it helped someone managed to sell out to a radiator vest just making the adults on kids bikes look even dumber. It don't really bother me anyway cause I know that most in the sport are true athletes and can run up nearly the same numbers as some of the top athletes in numerous different exercises. It don't bother me that people call us doing a kids hobby and letting everyone know we do something that's childish. Last I checked a guy running around bouncing & throwing a ball seems just as childish.

So I got a whole day until I am booking out of here to the NBL Grands. That would be the national championship for that non organized hobby some of the sports analyst like to dime us out for! Educated? Don't think so. I really got to pack. I'm still doing laundry to I can pack. I guess I better do something constructive other than laugh at people. Gotta go!

Olympics

Alright, that whole Olympic hype is over with. It sure was hype too, as I figured it would be. Nothing more than a regular International race that we have all been too. No doubt the most amazing thing ever to have medals awarded, but NBC hyped it was "Nascar on 2 wheels" and that just plain needs to stop! A big thumbs down to NBC for using BMX for 3 nights of commercials, lead-ins, etc. and then showing a 5 minute clip of main events at the midnight hour! It sure didn't show the endless rounds of competing prior to that main event and left the general public thinking it was nothing more than grown up men taking a banzai lap around a track in a kids sport. It also left most people thinking it takes nothing but guts to do the sport, making people still in the dark about the amount of athleticism that some take on in the sport.

Anyway next week will be NBL Grands, I am outta here by Tuesday afternoon for a fun filled week in Kentucky. Just for the record USA still wins BMX. More medals given to USA yesterday in Beijing than the other countries still puts a win in my book!

Thats right, more than 700 miles of mission BMX this weekend. For some reason we thought it would be a good time to ride twice a day making more than 5 tracks in 48 hours. Last night it was just P Doty & Myself with blisters riding at the "Y". Friday night was the stop @ Metro and it was pretty fun. Saturday morning at the NBL state I was suprised at the turnout considering the weather. THe Orange Cove track had some new asphalt for the turns and you didnt feel like it was hell track dirt turns this year. After picking up the NBL money the track director, again, did the best thing I have seen happen at a state race in a long time. Orange Cove gives out their own trophy that just stomps on anything the organization gives. It really shows the direction that needs to be taken on the whole award thing. It just excites the kids! The next stop was in the evening half way home. We made the stop at Bakersfield and rode that cool little track.

On Sunday morning Patrick & I got up with the exception of Nate cause he was still tired. We left him behind to sleep as we drove to SImi Valley to race around the 2000 foot endurance track at the Redline Cup. I won there making it 4 in a row. We drove back to Nates house, forced him into going to Orange Y by telling him he could have a Double Double after practice. He didnt take his bike, cheated us out of a burger and the night was over!

I was going to update this morning and tell you it was a rest day, but I already happen to go do a little training at 5AM this morning so I would be telling a lie if I told you it was rest day.

OC State

So I am off to the OC this morning. Not the OC your thinking. It's a day adventure to Orange Cove in the great central California. Were getting in Grands mode of riding so we figured no better time to go Metro in Bakersfield, Orange Cove for the NBL state, Bakersfield BMX, then a stop at Simi Valley Sunday morning for a Redline Cup, then some gate practice at Orange Y Sunday night. I just hope Nate don't see this before we leave or else he wont get in the truck! Patrick & I got it all planned out, but Nate only thinks were going up to Orange Cove! I lost track of updating this damn website. I was going along good until last weekend when I did some training, working & riding then had my birthday this on Tuesday, got cake in my face last night, and that brings us to this morning where I can finally race 28-35. Ok.. I better get moving so I can go pump 200 bucks worth of gas!

OK so this weekend on Saturday I was at the NBL Regional in Taft. After the double race day thanks to the dismal 70 riders that showed creating a double day event I decided I better start hitting pro sets before I get to old. The track had been rebuilt but in my opinion they did nothing but waste every ones time by taking out some things on the already existing layout and used that dirt to make the lamest pro section I have ever seen. Why so lame? I jumped it. If I hit it then it's obviously not up to par, not to mention it's longer and slower than the regular track. So next time you feel like hijacking a track you better do a better job, cause this one got a big double thumbs down from everyone I encounter! Since we were done after Saturday we had a little hotel party, got up late, seen Travis win the rally car thing at X Games and then I went for a road ride with Nate. We rode, I waited over 20 minutes for him to catch up and then we hung out last night. It's back to work early this morning and then during the week I am going to pour on some training.

My training buddy is coming back from France today and I am way excited cause I don't have to run with the rabbits anymore. Today is the start of the X Games and it's MX best trick tonight. Is the front flip gonna happen? I got to make this weekend happen as the tour moves on to the next Podunk town for NBL. The regional will be in Taft this weekend so my pit stop for some Letterman points will be happening then it's back to more of the same for next week.

Where does the time go. It's been a week since I updated. It's been a big blur the past week so don't worry there isn't much to tell you about. A whole bunch of training happened before the weekend, I worked a couple days and then Nate & I went on a little mission for the weekend. It was a getaway that is going to make me come on strong the month of August all the way past NBL Grands. I have a bunch of laundry to do this morning since I have not seen my house in 8 days. Nobody even think about hitting me up for some session tonight cause I am going to the track and getting my butt back home to sleep in my own bed for the first time in forever! The weekend coming up has X Games going on, the Regional in Taft is where I got to make a stop or else my Letterman title is going to slip away! August is going to be pretty busy with racing so I don't plan on being home to much, I gotta go enjoy it while I can.

Yep. 433 miles in 36 hours! 2 double point races, a party and a TV commercial later and the weekend was gone. Let me tell you to never waste your time, money, effort to make the trip to Camarillo to race BMX. The track was so lame. 4 pedals to the first turn, super small turns and no reason to even race. An hour late on sign ups, no where to sit, and a bunch of volunteers trying to get you to move out of the way. That would be the point when we left! Some lame brain thought it would be a good idea to tell us to move cause we were in the way. There is no where to move the place is a joke with no seating room, walking room or breathing room! I won the first round and Nate & I packed up and left. I am assuming I ended up taking a 2nd without even being there! Sunday was Simi and the place was good time just like it always is. Over 50 motos, 5 turns and a whole bunch of pedaling. I won Sunday & Nate got 2nd. We pretty much proved how stupid it was that we didn't stay Saturday night. I bonked out on going to the commercial shot so I could get home and re-pack my bags before leaving for a week tomorrow morning. Crap my truck is empty, anyone want to fill me up?

So you know what the best part about having my friends is? They call and tell you this extravagant weekend plan of all the places they are going, and who they are going there with. Then they decide to tell you they are spending the night at my house on Saturday.

Getting to the story here. Cody and Jeremy planned out this weekend of hitting every race on the planet and decided that I'm tagging along and they are sleeping here. O boy! Right? Grandma will be happy to have company at the house. The last time people from our team came over to the house there was a GARGANTUAN game of freeze tag going on across every yard in the neighborhood. Did I mention it was like 11 at night? It should be an interesting weekend.

I am off of work until Tuesday. This weekend should knock off some of the boredom. I am trying to set Cody and I up with some SeaDoos for next week when we go to the river. Unfortunately when I start asking about insurance policies they start to hang up phones. Conversation is as follows : "Hello do you rent sea doos?" "Are they fast? How fast" "Do they jump far?" It's just about weekend time and I was out training today when I decided I would come back and let you in on a little tip. If your ever running in 110 Degree heat and the sand is kinda deep for sprinting don't worry cause you can run on the asphalt cause even though its a little hot, it gets soft cause it's melting! The weather has been a little humid with thunderstorms so it's been kind of good for the KY training. August has that regional in Taft but I hear the track is so messed up they just want to cancel it. That really makes me want to send in my pre-sign! This weekend I will be in Camarillo, Laguna Woods, Simi Valley, Orange and then home, in that order. Get your map out, do you run up that many miles?

From the sounds of this past weekend in Roseville I sure didn't miss much. It was super hot, pretty smoggy and nasty from the reports I got. Nothing super bad but also nothing to make a trip for no real reason other than some good riding. I am so glad I stayed in So Cal last weekend. I just did the local thing, but I felt like my training was going good and these few weeks without any traveling events is giving me the time I have been needing. This coming weekend is a couple local state races here in Southern Cali. I wont be around the last weekend of the month cause Nate & I are planning a little trip for some much needed rest. August is going to get pretty busy with a Regional, State and a whole bunch of training before Kentucky. Did anyone hear about someone getting the Olympic Collectible fever and breaking into the GT trailer swooping all the bikes on the drive home from Roseville. If someone See's some GT's on the loose you better let big daddy know cause they got his ride too. Two of the 3 Olympians are on them bikes, so they gotta become a hot commodity real soon. I am off to train, do gates and pack it up for a day at work!

I changed up my schedule for the moment. I had no real reason to get over to the ABA National this weekend in Roseville. I am most likely better off training and being around, since racing 19/27 is usually kind of useless at 27 11/12! I had to work most of the weekend anyway. Next weekend will now be a couple of state races then a quick river trip followed by the NBL Regional in Taft, then some of that usual August training before Grands. Anyone that's going to Roseville better be ready for some heat cause I hear it's hot, smoky and nasty up there. It ain't much different in Southern California but at least I didn't drive 8 hours for it! Did anyone notice the Tour? Stage 3 had a couple of BMX'ers out front sprinting for the finish! It looks like my training pal ain't doing so bad! Good luck to my buddy for the rest of the day's, Work it hard so when you get back I can beat ya up a hill! That's about all I got for the weekend until the drama starts rolling in from Sac-Town.

Please tell me what in the world there is to do in Virginia. Not that Columbus was any better, but the Christmas Classic that I never go to anyway has packed up shop from the indoor convention center and moved to an indoor crap infested dirt horse arena! Sounds much better doesn't it? NBL claims it's to keep travel cost down. It looks like coming from the west coast its 500 to 800 bucks to fly there. Not so sure how that keeps cost down, the hotels are no bargain either! Maybe moving it into the Northeast area makes it so the population can drive and just threw another chewed up dry ant infested dog bone to the west coast basically telling us were not welcome to come play. Good Job next generation NBL honchos! Good choice on your first chess move. I got the whole week off so maybe I can find something better to complain about. It's hot, but I like that! I got a tricky new plate in the works, I finally got my photos from China developed. Anyway I am going to go throw some weight around, do my thing and ride tonight. Oh yeah baby! I got a digital camera. I know they have been out for years now, but I actually have one now. I have had it for a while. Well, more like a few weeks. Cody was always crying about how I take too many pictures with his. I bought my own. Problem solved! Now I can take 100's of useless pictures and video of nothingness.

Moving along.. I haven't been riding too much due to many hours at work. The holidays come around and it seems like I cannot make the cotton candy fast enough. Gotta love carnivals right? No fireworks for the 4th. Just a rad sesh one of our bros backyard trails. I managed to kill myself as usual. I got to rock the new Kuwahara jumper though. It was as though everyone but me got to ride the damn thing though. Every time I turned around "Is it cool if I ride your bike?" Get your own!! So yeah it was a lot of fun.

It's Saturday?

Where did the week go. I realized when I was dragging myself to do my Saturday morning session the week had gone by. I am sure I worked a few days, then I managed to do some training, 4th of July was nutso. It was an early day, a parade, then a double point race, and then an all afternoon, night party going on for another Rommel Jam. The place is just progressing every time I see it. Not to mention everyone gets nuttier ad the night goes on. Christmas lights on drop ins, fire jumps, etc. The latest invention was a concrete bowl to be used for numerous transfer lines, etc. The foam pit was in use last night, I even seen a Blondie girl with high heels dropping in and hitting it. We left there this morning (yes Saturday morning) got home for a few hours sleep and headed to XRoads for some racing. Nate went back home after being in the desert for a couple days he gets to much heat for the month. I will be a little lost tonight since the great county park pulled the plug on another southern California track. NBL is closed tonight, so without my second home I guess I will just do a training session at home and call it a day cause I am way tired anyway.

Over this weekend I realized how nutty I am sometimes. I started thinking about it and one of the past few days I was at the track doing gates in the evening and realized it was my 5th hour on a bicycle that day. I sometimes wonder if I am addicted? I am pretty sure there is no arguing that. Today is the drama Y tracks state race. I think Nate is going to sleep while I train this afternoon, then I think I might just be chilling out cause I will be working the next few days, then the 4th comes up quickly and were planning a big ride day on the 5th so it will be happening in Southern California. South Park is going on right now, but it's actually just a bunch of people sitting around watching NBL fix the thunderstorm struck track. My Kuwahara pro team mate won the first day so congrats to Pohlkamp! Rumor has it NBL is down 1 official due to hospitalization. I hope that comes out of a different budget. ABA needs to hurry up & announce the California national. I am considering a flight to Seattle at the moment for cup championships in September so I might be on the road big time once this month passes. I am out so go check out Dirty to get a better laugh.

So I heard about some drama a few weeks ago at the NBL state race in Fresno that I opted not to attend in favor of the US Olympic Training Center. Before I go any further I did find out the track is awesome, non injury, rider friendly track that I am sure everyone knew it would be. It sure was not that big scare from the meetings last December that it was made out to be. But I guess they couldn't justify lunch without arguing about the safety of an extreme sport track or the levels of poop in the outhouses. Maybe my $25 parking fee this past weekend went to popper's? Can you tell I have been working a couple days. It's time for another break already! Anyway did you notice "DR" is the 3rd Olympian? I seen the press releases and I just wonder how he is the "world's top-ranked BMX racer" as they say in most of the news releases. I thought Kyle won ranking points, and our country didn't get the 1 slot at worlds this year either in elite so where did the info come from? Either way he is way fast, a good choice cause of the golden arches.

Back to my drama from Fresneck. Y'all hear that FMF lost their producer of frames and they cant shut down the pipe production so they are calling it quits on the bicycles? Anyway I am sure in California everyone has seen the FMF team sporting around. Apparently something about pictures, my space, penguins, team vehicles, threats, photo wraps, and a whole bunch of whiskey tango things went flying right along with the bars and their cheetah's. Officials had to break it off and it looked like a good old day at the dirt oval. Why can't we just handle it like they do over on the circle tracks, like this guy does! It would be so much funnier! I am off to ride the roads in the heat and do some gates tonight, then work tomorrow!

Where's My Wash?

So now that were past the roller coaster evacuation, smoke filled skies of Prunedale, Sunday's Win, and a whole good weekend of riding let me chime on in something I totally forgot about but was pissed about all weekend long. Parking! Who think they can get away with charging 25 bucks to park a car? Not just to park, but park and a 60 moto national. It's not like your stressed for room cause the fairgrounds are busting at it's last parking space. It's not like your in a greedy fairgrounds to being with. Last I check Manzanita Park, is a public taxpaying park. It sure sounds to me like I got double charged. I paid almost 5 bucks a gallon for gas the whole way there. Over 60 cents of each gallon went to tax, then we show up and pay 25 bucks to park in a public park. I thought a car wash came with the 25 bucks! Not to mention for 25 I should have had a red carpet to park on by the first turn so I can tailgate on the first straight for that much money. Either way, it's over I paid it, not happy about it. My personal theory is they figured half the riders showing up, they gotta charge double the amount to park so they don't lose out! Anyway I have training it up the past couple days, clearing the smoke from my lungs again. I thought I had just puffed it all out after riding in China, then we show up to the bay area and with all the wildfires going on the smoke was swirling around us right along with those thunderstorm's that hit us during Saturday. I was told rain outs happen in February & March, not June. How Ironic!

New Ride (Nate's News)

Hey folks. We just got back from the Prunedale national. Cody is one race from capping out on points, and I'm one cheeseburger away from the next belt loop. I did not do so hot this weekend. NBL split a 7 man class so I got the peeps winning the main, and the other half with the exception of one was pretty much lame. Why we all cannot race together beats the hell out of me. UCI baby! Load em up.

When I got back from the race today my new Kuwahara jumper was waiting for me in a box. Its kinda of like a fat chick. A little heavy but fun to ride. The color is pretty rad too! It matches my new riding pants that Cody was so kind to pick out for me. His pants are pretty cool too. I think he has a little China left in him.

I got work in the morning. There is more to come about this amazing weekend including broken down roller coasters, and a stiffy on the pirate ship swing. Hilarious! All I gotta say is don't trip.
