Since I always come up short on the race reviews I decided to keep the leap frog close by and type the random happenings for the day. On Thursday when we traveled we got up way to early, was on a plane by 6AM and on my way to Texas with Nate. We seen a big lady at a pizza shop, Go figure? We sat with two drunk lady's on the plane then Nate was so hungry he hustled my peanuts but he got what he deserved cause on his 5th bag of peanuts he got a bum sack and it only had salt in it. We found a marshmallow shooter in the sky mall! We got our baggage, got a rental car upgrade and headed for the hotel. Our Double “A” hotel was a dive. Anyway at the track practice went good, I felt fast and liked the track. It's always good to feel fast casue I never think I am. Thursday night turned into a late night of getting things ready but we had late afternoon practice on Friday before the national on Friday night. I didnt make it to the main on Friday but I was still running with the young guns. Knowing that I wouldn't have to deal with 19 year old short horse jockeys I was looking forward to Saturday.
Saturday was the USA Championships and it was a long day of UCI style racing. Motos are done before you blink and mains take the rest of the day. I had some good motos. I woke up, had practice, hit the first moto and took 1st. It was good to have a low score and just be able to stay consistent for the qualifier. Main had me sitting in Lane 8, I got stuck outside turn 1 but did some bumping and even a little bumping down the last straight that I got away with to move into 4th before the finish.
We didn't race Sunday so that we could have an easy day home, but after over 4 hours in the airport thanks to delayed flights, my early night home turned into midnight. We were tourist on Sunday morning so we still got up early and getting home at 1AM made for a 22 hour day. Maybe Nate can fill you in on the plane trips cause you already know how I handle sitting. I don't do it well. He is good at sitting, he can fill you in on that. Ask him if anyone sits the bench in BMX

Texas Bound
I have to get off to bed cause by morning I will be bound for Texas on the southwest cattle car. Nate & I have a flight out in the morning to meet up with all the others to take part in the USAC Championships and the ABA Super Nationals. I got super busy since the weekend just catching up on stuff before the trip. Over the weekend we might update you on the happenings but we got work to do, so we won't be goofing around until on the way home since Nate has to qualify for Team USA so he can join in me in China later this year. The team did have a little jam this past weekend at the Rommel's. As you can see by the pictures the skill level was insane. I tuned up my Whitter Narrows skills over the weekend as well, but it don't matter now cause were on to the next weekend already. Anyway Off to bed until my 4AM journey begins!

I forgot (Nate's News)
I left some stuff out during yesterday's update. We will start 1st with the trip up the hill to the desert. Apparently I have been sheltered in the world of burritos. I hitched a ride with Pat and his mom, and I rolled in the back seat with a 5 foot burrito in my lap. For all you funny minded folks out there I am being serious. There is this place that literally makes like million foot burritos. It was half chicken and half carne asada. I was totally amazed. I knew that we were going up there with it the night before, so I was eager to get a look (and a taste) of this thing. We finally got there, and I found out I wasn't crazy because everyone else there was amazed too. That thing lasted about 2 seconds and it vanished.
The second part of the story I left out is the best. Cody and I don't always agree on who is hot and who is not. I decided to tell him that one of his ladies are fugly and he threw his shoe at me. Well he missed and I went and picked it up and threw it across the parking lot. That's not even the funny part. Some girl came walking by and saw it on the ground and started trying to throw it up into a nearby tree. Cody had to put on his clip shoe so he could run over and get the shoe back before he had to climb the tree. It was hilarious. Next time he wont throw shoes!!

Chocolate Face! (Nate's News)
Ok so I am kind of bent outta shape at the moment. Cody is staying the night at the 3 Digit Dugout, and we decided to go on a shopping spree. We ended up buying a Chunky bar. I have never had one until tonight. It was pretty amazing. I always look at them but have never taken the step of actually getting one. I think that from now on I am just going to stock up so I always have one on hand.
In other news, we rode at Whittier tonight. My riding session got cut short due to my break arms taking a digger. I have to get some new ones sometime early in the week before Texas. We went to a party beforehand which was pretty cool. Nothing better than watching moms jump into foam pits. Cody ate all the broccoli and carrots. He is a horse. On and off the track. I'm just burnt.
Well I hope that the Easter bunny leaves you lots of eggs. If you find the one with all the money in it please send it to me. I just bit off Cody's finger.

Squating & Fighting Wind
Yo - So it's almost Friday but not yet. I have been getting lots of seat time in this week so far. I went down to the new NBL track in LA on Tuesday just for practice but it turned out a great time of riding. With a bunch of team peeps there and only a couple more visits there before the national I figured it was a good time to get the session going and learn the track at national speed. Yesterday I was headed out the door and down the road for a road bike ride when about 10 minutes into it the wind came up. I said screw it and pushed on but after an hour the wind was horrible. I'm talking 60MPH wind! 3 hours later I made it back home totally wasted from the wind. Today I practiced squatting so I could get ready for China! I managed to do some constructive things this week other than play in the dirt. I got my truck & teeth serviced, I seen my aunt for the first time in a few years, and I think I did a years worth of laundry. I needed to get that done cause in another week I will be packing for what seems to be 6 or 7 weekends in a row! It's about time to go roll for some gate practice so find someone else to read up on cause I'm out.

Bouncin' Back (Nate's News)
I got another job finally! Now I sweep parking lots. You wouldn't believe the stuff that you can find when you are out there with a broom and a dust pan. Last night was some good stuff. Cody came down from the desert to ride, and Keith and my dad came down from the AZ. It seems as if we take over the entire track every night at Whittier in one way or the other. There were some other folks there too from the team. Texas is next week so we will see how that plays out. Cody thinks it is fun to run marathons in the middle of the week, and then still ride at the track the same night. I was trying to figure out how the heck I am going to get both of my bikes on a plane next week. One bag and two bikes. Hmm.. Other things in life seem to be falling back into place lately. We will see how it all goes.
Until next time folks...

Another 30
Alright this past weekend was stop 4 & 5 for the NBL Golden State this year. In Santa Barbara I was getting the idea that the entire year of state racing is going to be a concern. It's was bringing up the topic to a lot of people this weekend on how much worth is a state champion when you were in motos with mixed rider classes or your moto had a low rider count. It's tough to say your the champion of the states population when the race has less than 30 motos and 100 riders. I truly believe during the current year your seeing the effects from 2 years prior. If you remember it was a couple years ago when I told you they need to change the series cause it's going to slide downhill if they didn't The only scary thing is the thought of what will come of it in a couple more years. You can just write off the population to the rising cost of gas and travel. Where did those 230 motos in Phoenix this weekend come from if that's such a concern. If anything the idea that rising gas cost would be a benefit for the smaller grassroots state program cause people cant afford the bigger out of state nationals, so they supplement with some of these other races closer to home. Anyway I will stop ranting about my politics. At least I just ramble here for a few minutes instead of spending every waking moment of my day walking around the track speaking my word to anyone that will listen! Maybe you ran into the same guy this weekend, cause I had to run away more than once this weekend!
Nate & I drove up late for the race. We left at 6:30 on Saturday morning and made it just in time for a few warm up laps on the "mini" track. Everything was small, turns were useless for passing, and we didn't have a way around in you got behind. Racing went fast since there was only 30 motos to run. The board meeting I was going to stick around for was cancelled for the reason that there was nothing to talk about. I thought having low rider count at race 5 of the year would be a major concern? Okay, I will shut up again! We got to the hotel but couldn't check in yet cause it was early. Had some dinner, hung out and did nothing. I was basically tired and it was cold so I didn't care to leave the warm hotel room. Sunday morning was cold, so riding was nothing more than it had to be and we got out of there before noon with my winnings in hand. It took me the rest of the day to wonder home after stopping at Nate's house and drinking a cup of coffee creamer! A bunch of nothing went on last night, so now it's midday Monday and I am trying to figure out what to do with my week. Since the wind is already blowing I am guessing I will just do the indoor training thing for today then hope for some better weather later in the week.

Should be sleeping (Nate's News)
So it is close to midnight and I am still up. Cody is going to be rolling through here at like 6 am to pick up everything here including myself, and we are off to the Santa Barbara state race. I sure hope that I packed everything. I also hope that my pants dry by the morning or I'll be rockin' wet leathers. I was over at the W4 compound the other day and the scale said I was 10% body fat. I was so pumped. Too bad it was on the female setting. Apparently boobs aren't all muscle. Who knew? After switching back to male I was 14%. Shucks! I rented some movies the other day. Cody wanted to see that new animated Bee movie. I hope it was everything he expected it to be. I'm in a war with my bicycle at the moment. I cannot figure out what gear ratio to run. Luckily I got all these tricky Profile gears to help me out. Not much else happening these days. I quit my job the other days. I decided delivering newspapers just wasn't right for me. I like to sleep till noon.
Well it's bed time so maybe I will see you tomorrow at Santa Barbara. Good luck to everyone who went to Phoenix. If any of you see ET can you tell him I need my cruiser back? He borrowed it to phone home and hasn't returned it.

Hey Good Looking
I took a shower to start my day this morning and I realized my shampoo told me "hey good looking". You think I'm nuts at this point but it says it on the front of the bottle. Someone must have wrote it talking about me. On a more educational note I really had nothing to write about today. Yesterday evening I got bored enough to finally work on some stuff that's been on my back burner for a while so it occupied myself at my desk. Last night I was talking to Nate and decided this, so I will quote him of saying that I "Make the impossible, Possible". It related to my skill with the word processor, keyboard and desk! Anyway I have to quite wasting time now so I will stop flaunting, bragging and wasting your time. To my training pal, you got 7 days left to dominate Italy so .. Send It!
Good Luck!
Yo - Just thought I would make a stop at the computer as I am on my way out to train the day away. I wanted to tell my desert training buddy good luck as he starts the stage race tour in Italy today. Don't be such a slacker like the Cali tour last month and quit! But really let the training pay off cause your not sick this time around so winning wont be a problem. Anyway I am going to be busy the next few days before getting over to the coast for some state racing this weekend so you people keep up your Internet reading and I will be back another day.

Sunny March
It's almost mid week and I am blasting through another week doing the same thing. This past weekend I did a bunch of local riding, built a new turn, played in the dirt and win then basically had to shut the fun down early for work on Sunday. Don't think I let ya down though, it's only March and I took advantage of the sun that was shining in early march! I went for a road ride today for a whole long time. I felt like Nate cause I was worried it was going to get cold so I had arm warmers packed so I was weighed down with goods, only mine wasn't water, gels, and bars. I did go do something productive after playing on my bicycle all day. I went shopping! This weekend is the Santa Barbara state race so we better have some good weather for that deal. I seen there was a little squabble over the 2nd straight there. Something about new track directors, old track directors, and rider rep's all with different opinions led to a blowout and nothing being done to fix problems! Hey I just hear rumors, so don't listen to me. I am never correct!

Weekend Review
So it's mid week and you never got the scoop on last weekends State race. Not to much has gone on for me since the weekend and it's already wednesday so that don't say much. The weekend was busy being close to home was causing it to be busy, but having 3 races in 1 day didn't help matters. On Friday there was about 4 people hitting practice before the weekend so tha was showing how lame the turnout was going to be! On Saturday morning the numbers were real low and never got better. I was combined with the young guns but managed a first, Sunday I fell short for a 2nd. We had a 2nd go around of racing on Saturday for the scholarship race but that was even smaller. The grand opening of the new So Cal track in LA was next on the list but Nate and I ended up at the Rommel compound and Nate was doing foam pit back flips before we made the trip for the night race. The new track turned out to be awesome and I can't wait to ride it again. After that race it was getting late and by the time we made it back to my house if felt like it was time to get up again.
Nate was with me non stop and he is not used to performing that many times in a a month, much less the weekend! We woke up Sunday morning and raced day 2 of the state race. My intentions of training after the weekend were good, but Nate was to burned out. I finished the weekend doing a bunch of nothing at my house while Nate slept for a few hours, before waking up to drive home and sleep another 12 hours before being able to function again. I guess some people just were not cut out for the racing thing!
