Living Out The Week

I feel like I should by on my way to Las Vegas right now but still got to live out the week before we can hit the road on Friday for the NBL National and Regional Championship weekend. Maybe it's that end of year stretch or blue that's getting to me at the moment. I guess I want to get going on some downtime training cause I was thinking December/January would be a good time for the task, but with January filling up on the schedule press releases I think I better in fast twitch mode by the 3rd weekend in January at the latest. Anyway I am tired and need more sleep than I get so check back over the weekend.

Time (not) Changing

What the heck. I wake up an hour late for my ride this morning. I was all planned to head out at 10 to road ride but my alarm goes off an hour late thanks to my blackberry changing the time. I guess nobody told blackberry's about the brilliant government plan to save energy and extend the daylight savings. That's what we get for relying on phones that are named after food. I just wonder what the heck chocolates did this morning. Anyway it's been a lame weekend cause peeps are lame. Nobody feels the need to ride these days and the smoke from the so cal fires just gave everyone another excuse in their big book of reasons to put off riding. In my opinion most everyone are just being slackers right now. It's always tough these last few weeks of the year for racing, but this year just seems lame. Everyone threw in the towel and it aint over yet! It was a 2 live crew Friday at O Show. Literally 2 people! Saturday morning was solo and I was there so that gives you a hint of participation. Saturday night didn't look so hot either. We will see what tonight brings. Someone Motivate Me.

Schedule's Coming

It seems like everyone is starting to give up their 2008 schedules. I can see mine coming in the future now that NBL decided they would give a tease to their line up. I say it's a tease cause they left all the west coast "TBA". Some of the dates look conflicting. I wanted to make the ABA national in Oregon next year but it's dubbed a west coast NBL National. UCI moved their February date to January so it looks like Nascar is in my future now for February. Nate & I are going to get some whiskey tango gear for the day! I think the tracks should be open again by the weekend. It seemed like everything came to a hault in Southern California this week with all the fires. Nobody wants to race in the smoke I guess. I got my normal train on today but I think I inhaled more smoke into my lungs than the NBL staff has their whole life! Well maybe not that much, the smoke stack behind the trailer is going pretty good sometimes! I am tired, I am out!

Smoke . Wind . . Fire

The last couple days in Southern California really have not been the brightest. My inbox has filled up with people checking on me, but the fire is not that close, it just seems to be every direction I look. The smoke and ash blanket the entire region, the wind is crazy and the fires seem to be spreading. It sucks. Anyway the rest of the e-mails were about old Colorado trips and my 2nd place finish this past weekend in Boulder City. That really was Nate updating my damn site. I thought he did a better job than me. He forgot to mention they held me back with a practice only Friday. I wanted a pre race, but instead they sold out for a 5 dollar practice. I have not rode all week cause the fire has been holding me back! I will be back on point by weekend cause next weekend is back to sin city for another round of NBL action.

Speaking of action. I hear rumors of 20 grand, flat pedals in January. 7 events for 100 grand and it's flat pedals or go home is the rumor. I didn't buy it, but with the backing it might flop, but I hope not. I am all in if its happening. So your asking who is behind it? You tell me?

Nate"s takin over!

Hey I snuck into the Dot Net compound and logged in. Just got back from Vegas with Dub 4. He took home two seconds for the weekend. I took a 4 and a 5 home. Kinda shady but it was nice to be back out at the track. It has been a while since I have been around. We went up Friday morning to catch UCI pro racing. After a few pit stops on the side of I-15 we made it to Boulder City. Racing was pretty good but too bad there was like 5 people watching. Someone decided it would be a good idea to run the pros separately. I don't like it because it cuts into my snack time in the morning.

So we rode Saturday and then caught the UCI racing later in the afternoon after some shower time. This hotel was pretty tricky. The soap was in a little push dispenser shibang so there was no way anyone could drop the soap. Maybe slip in it... Ha. So after UCI we rolled to Claim Jumper. My dad had been talking about going there all day long. We figured out why when we got there. He ate some monstrous avocado bacon bigger than your head hamburger. It didn't stand a chance. I was kinda pissed because he separated Cody and I. Something about a nice restaurant and us being on our best behavior. When are we not? Keith was around though this weekend. Cody and my brother drive me nuts when they hang out.

This brings us to Sunday. We rode, then rolled back to the compound. We stopped at the Mad Greek on the way home. 20 bucks for some hummus and we were good to go. When we got back we were getting ready to hit Orange Show and the projector went out. Show is over for Sunday night racing, which kinda blows. I am stuck here until traffic dies down later on tonight.

Anyway time is up on here. Cody found me and we are going to hit up this helpline he just dug up. Our employer sent it out to all of us apparently. They are going to help him with health and fitness. I'm going to get some financial advice. First I have to punch him because he is telling me some story about getting his finger caught in a bear trap this past year in Colorado

Day 1 in the wind

The boulder city national day 1 is over and its crazy windy at the track. I am back at the hotel after the day in the wind. The wind kicked up during practice and then NBL decided not to start when they had planned so the wind could get even worse. By racing the practice plan was out the door and it turned into a survival. I got 3 first in motos and a 2nd in the main. UCI is running later this evening and the wind is only supposed to get worse by morning so the racing tomorrow morning will be even worse off than today.

Overall I have to remember that it's not even 2008 and I am working on some good scores for next year but its still early so there is plenty of time left and there is no reason to get excited.

Weekend . . .

What happen to my week? It's already Thursday and I am not sure what happen to the days since I started the week but I do know today I have a few things to get done befor I leave early in the morning for the sin city region and the national in boulder city. It will be the first go on the random gate in competition for me but at least I have had some decent time with the system cause most everyone I have talked to has not even heard it yet. I was on it again just last night but it take a lot more back strength that I have misplaced a few years ago.

I should be doing a little updating during the weekend so you can check back. NBL is running the UCI race Friday morning and Saturday night so to be a part of the whole deal it will be.a couple long days at the track. I better go cause its getting later in the day and my phone and email list is getting longer by the minute. I almost forgot to say Good luck to my training buddy off in Italy this weekend.

I am a pilot!

So after a couple days of national festivites I am shifting gears in the morning and going to be back on the practice game. Next weekend is NBL/UCI so I am going to get my random gate figured out and do the regular training thing today. If you care I won the pre race last night for the national and then bonked out today when I drew a tough rack. The rack next to me was practically the pre race so go figure! I heard the results from france but dont remember them at the moment. I can rumor to you that where I was this weekend was less than 200 motos. When was the last time that happen in Southern California! Maybe the sport will learn not to put us pilots on 11 weeks straight! I bet you didnt know we were pilots! I can keep rambling but I wont go anymore other than I will tell you the "shows" over and it's moving north if you know where we were this weekend that will make sense!

Cal Cup Uno

The California Cup was last night and other than going strong until 11PM I was loving it. Maybe it was cause I won every lap around the track. I ended up with the California Cup 1. That's over now, so its time for the national this weekend. Pre race is tonight and I am going to actually do a race instead of bum out in practice. I am more directed toward the NBL/UCI next week so I am hanging low and getting my regular train on in the mornings before I head down for the national story. I got asked a billion times last night about winning the points. By the looks of my points everyone thinks I am on a mission to win it for the sea doo! I didn't even know about it until someone explained it to me last night so I sure was not thinking about that, but you better believe if there are toys in the mix this kid wont be joking around now.

In 4 The Long 1

This weekend is sure going to be a long haul to Sunday. Last night I was out at O Show getting some gates before the National this weekend. I will be back there tonight for the California Cup, Tomorrow for the Pre Race, and the national is over the weekend! Basically I have been on the bike since last Thursday. Next weekend is not much better for a break, it's NBL/UCI in Boulder City, NV. The good thing about this weekend is that I am closer to home so I can sleep in my own bed for 1 weekend. The state points from last weekend were posted and I did take the Uno. Regional championships are next month so we will have to see what kind of monkey magic I can pull off there. Tonight is California Cup so 1 thing at a time!

Do Some Math!

I spent the weekend in Santa Barbara at the NBL State Championships and came away with two perfect days of racing. I didn't lost a round the entire weekend. It came a little close today when scoring gave me a serving of their usual tactics. This one was close and I cant blame anyone for trying to score a finish that's tied. I cant thank the state for adding video for the championship event cause after the video I had won it by more than I thought. So you would think 2 days of perfects would give me the championship win? After a lesson in 2nd grade math I think I might have won the championship by 5 points. I got to stop making things so exciting in my life! Anyway after the race I came back did some training, went to O show to get some practice before next weekends national and then I came home. So now I am tired and need to stop rambling.

State Champ's

The NBL State Championships are this weekend. I have not really done NBL since the grands over a month ago and I am just about healed. I still got swelling and pain in my knee most of the time but it's live able. I have been doing OK the last few weeks at all the ABA final stuff that's been going down, but I just wish I could have been 100%. I guess you cant be 100% all year. Anyway it's a trip over to Santa Barbara for me but not before getting some gate time in at O Show since the National for ABA is there next weekend. I won't be getting to Santa Barbara until tomorrow but I am out of my house later today since I am going to start riding today. I figured there was no need to be there for Friday night practice when I should be practicing on the national track next week. Either way I will be on the bike, its just going to create a lot more driving!
